3. I cannot stand country music.

You're not alone.

I always hate it when I have the misfortune of eating at a restaurant that plays constant country music. It ruins the whole meal for me.

TMP, as a general rule, yeah, I hate it. There are a few, very few songs that I can tolerate. I probably couldn't name more than a dozen songs that I like, but, of course, I don't listen to it unless circumstances leave no other option; so if there are any other songs that I could listen to, I probably will never hear them.

Thanks for sharing your 10, Reprobate! What are some of your favourite horror movies? I'm a fan of those, too.

Try not to hold my fondness for country music against me. As you'll see from my signature line, some of it has meaningful lyrics. ;)

I live in Oklahoma.

They have it playing in completely random places here. Like even Pizza Hut. D: (Not my favorite place, but it's one of those big food chains that ought to be recognizable by anybody)

Personally, I won't hold it against you. I'm tired of the attitudes so many people have these days where they think their tastes in music is so much better than everybody else's. I think people can listen to whatever they want to - whatever they like.

Although that won't stop me from getting agitated when they're playing country music in a restaurant. lol

I like mostly the older classic horror movies. "Psycho" is always a classic. "The Shining," "The Exorcist," "Pet Cemetary," and some of the "Hellraiser" and "Friday the 13th" movies were pretty good. Horror movies are frustrating genre though. For every good one there have to be a few dozen that absolutely suck. I thought "Signs" showed some promise, but then turned out to have the absolute most asinine premise ever aside from some of the truly horrible B movies. I am terrible for remembering movie titles. There are more obscure movies that I like, but I'm not going to attempt to describe the plot.

The only one I've seen recently that I enjoyed from beginning to end was "Zombieland" and that's more of a parody than anything.

I think it's a little ironic that I like horror movies because I am extremely sceptical of the supernatural in real life.

I won't hold the fact that you like country music against you. It's a matter of personal preference.

Just from what you listed there, you and I definitely enjoy some of the same movies! Pet Semetary (the book and the movie) creep me out, but that's what makes them good! 'IT' is also a fun movie. Misery's absolutely great, too. I never really got into the Friday the 13th movies, but I have seen all the Final Destination movies. The last one was brutal, lol. Zombieland was also a fun parody-type film, yeah. And by the same token, I LOVE 'Shaun of the Dead'!  ;D I actually don't think it's ironic that you like horror movies. A lot of skeptics I know enjoy them -- maybe it's because we're skeptical of the supernatural that it just makes it all the more fun for us. :)

As for the music, just for the record, I love music across several genres. Particularly oldies (from the 60s-70s), stuff from the 20s-40s, some rock, a TON of classical, alternative, blues, jazz, so on and so forth. Country's just one of 'em. :)

9. I've been divorced since April 12, 2000.

That's the day of my birth (but the year is wrong)!

I guess that gives us both a reason to celebrate that day.  :D

Ok, I'll participate!

1.  I sing soprano.  I've sung at both the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and Lincoln Center in New York (I wish they were solos, I was in a couple of massive choruses).
2.  I cross stitch, I have been for 25 years (I also love to draw and I'm doing a few designs for a cross stitch designer to convert to cross stitch for sale.  I'll get a commission!)
3.  I'm a big Sci-Fi Fan (nerd)
4.  I costume at conventions, mostly Steampunk.  Got interviewed by Mo Rocca at the last Steampunk World's Fair.  The interview appeared on CBS Sunday morning last Halloween.
5.  I love Thunderstorms
6.  I grew up speaking Italian, though I'm rusty now.  I took French in High School but only really know enough to find a bathroom in France, and I'm fluent in American Sign Language.
7.  I play D&D.  I'm finished with the whole must be beautiful elven princess characters.  I more enjoy playing Trolls and Goliaths so that I can actually fight and be productive in the games.
8.  I'm a History fanatic.  My main interests are Roman history, history and anthropology of domestication of food and animals and some early medieval history.
9.  I'm also an Archaeology fanatic and have had the honor of holding a few Clovis spear points.
10. I'd love to work as forensic photographer.

;D

;D
My youngest daughter is a medical photographer and considered a position as a forensic photographer. An ex-forensic photographer told her that in his experience if you lasted more than six months you did it for life. He lasted 4 months, until his first multi-car pile up. It's not a job for the faint hearted but if you can cope with the gore it's a very rewarding career apparently.

I can be pretty Spocklike when it comes to that stuff.  I remember once my mother said she wasn't sure I had the guts to do it.  But I told her as long as I didn't have to photograph dead family members then I'd be ok.

It sure was.  They both were great honors.  I was up on stage at the Opera House at the Kennedy center and we sung Handle's Messiah.  If you don't pay attention to the religion part that is a genius piece of music!

The Lincoln Center my chorus was invited to sing "The Armed Man" by Kark Jenkins.  I highly recommend this work if you are looking for a very inspired and very sobering view of war, aftermath and hope for the future.  I have to say, it's been one of my favorite pieces to sing, ever.  And on top of that, we got a world class course on good choral singing, which was worth going to New York for.

1--Since so many people started off with phobias, I'm agoraphobic.  I've been diagnosed as disabled with a severe anxiety disorder, and agoraphobia is how it manifests itself.  The degree of my discomfort from being out in public depends on how severe the anxiety is that day.
2--The agoraphobia itself is likely due to PTSD from having lived on and off of the streets for years.
3--I'm quite happily married, and have two awesome stepchildren.
4--I once planned to be a Unitarian Universalist minister, and have a decent armchair knowledge of Western theology.
5--I'm currently trying to write a sitcom pilot along with two friends, one of whom actually works in the industry.
6--I adore the new version of Doctor Who, but have respect for the old-school purists.
7--On the main online Alternate History site, I wrote a story that ended up winning "Best Timeline Of The Year".
8--Muppets are my kryptonite.  Don't ask me why, but whenever I see anything with Muppets, I get a huge stupid grin and am incapable of speaking for the length of the program.
9--My favorite directors are John Waters, Quentin Tarantino, Orson Welles, John Ford, Akira Kurosawa, and Fritz Lang.
10--When possible, I find humor to be the most effective way of communicating the contradictions, uncertainties, and agonies of existence.
