Palin - "what is it exactly that the Vice President does?"

Not so very long ago Palin was asking what a VP does...now she's a VP hopeful. If Palin was Cheny's attempt to win over Hilary voters, he chose poorly.

McCain doesn't know how many houses he owns. Palin doesn't know what a vice president does.

Obviously, preparation and being in-the-know are paramount for the Republicans this time.

It seemed like a fair question, especially in the context in which it was asked. Besides, I'd like to know exactly what the VP is supposed to be doing every day too!

[spoiler:362my7uk]NOTE: Just heard an NPR report that stated Palin's Daughter IS pregnant and getting married to the father.  The child that is already born but thought to be Palin's grandchild is in fact her kid.  So the rest of this this little section that I posted is bunk....

There seems to be some contention as to whether or not she gave birth to her latest child.  Some blogs seem to think there may be some evidence that Palin's daughter got preggers but she claimed her grand child as her own child to try to keep people from knowing that her daughter got pregnant.

In a 2006 questionnaire sent to Alaskan gubernatorial candidates, Sarah Palin answered a question concerning the phrase, “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance in a way that intimated that she believed the founding fathers were the ones that wrote the Pledge of Allegiance.     11. Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

    Sarah Palin: “Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance”.

Its platform calls for the defense of "states rights," to "seek the complete repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska in conformance with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17, of the federal constitution."

Basically, the AIP wants a vote on secession. According to the organizations' website. "[T]hough it is widely thought to be a secessionist movement, the Party makes great effort to emphasize that its primary goal is merely a vote on secession, something that Party advocates say Alaskans were denied during the founding of the state."

The AIP says that Gov. Sarah Palin used to be a member of the party. Earlier this year, Palin recorded a welcoming address to the AIP's convention.

The sadder thing is that my wife likes her as the VP choice. She knows virtually nothing about her but what her friends have told her (all "good" stuff for religious reasons). She needs to get the rest of the story on the candidate. I'm working on it.

But on the other hand, if Obama tries to go bowling again, I'll puke. First rule of politics (one of them) don't do shit that makes you look stupid!

ooh.. I found a link to a questionnaire made by a righty political group and sent to the the politicians in Alaska who were candidates for governor in 2006.  Most of the politicians didn't send in a reply, I guess nobody really cared to take it
