The British Broadcasting Corporation, aka the BBC or the Beeb, or even Auntie,  is never short of a scandal or two.
A reputation for reliable news and great programming around the world.

We have already seen:

I read BBC news every day on my I-phone.  I want to believe that it is less dishonest about the American political scene.  I also read some articles at Al Jazeera for the news of the middle eastern world as it relates to the US. I am cautiously suspicious about both those sources but in contrast to my network TV news it is at least different.

The editing of the Trump speech was "misleading" in that it showed what his intent actually was, rather than showing accurately yet another example of his technique of saying things via circumlocution, providing convenient deniability. He's infamous for that--his shady former go-to fixer Michael Cohen testified about it in court.

I think it's likely he learned the technique at a young age from Roy Cohn, an early mentor in chicanery and ratfucking. Though it wouldn't surprise me if he learned it from his father, who was a piece of work himself.

Trump fully intended that the crowd march on the Capitol and interfere with Congress. He sat and watched it on television for hours. He expressed approval of the notion of hanging Pence, his vice president, while the crowd chanted "Hang Mike Pence."

You could say makers of the documentary were overstepping when they used video editing to make his intent clear, but that did in fact show his intent clearly.

It was clear to me, watching him speak that day. Why those dolts ever expected to take over is beyond me. People like me shouldn't be on the police force, for sure. I'd've opened fire on the first person waving anything in my face.

i saw a video at the time, since then lost. taken by someone of the riot, from a distance away.

a man was standing a ways from the ongoing riot, berating half a dozen fully-armed swat cops who were standing around the corner of a buildng from the riot. full gear--tactical vests, firearms, the whole jackbooted thug outfit. he was pointing atthe riot and demanding thatthey go over and do something to stop it. all the while they stood with their backs to the building, concealed from the  rioters.

since then ive wondered if they were waiting for a signal to go into the capitol themselves to arrest the congress.

Just be happy.

If Trump follows through on his threat to sue the BBC I think it's unlikely that they'll just roll over the way that American media corporations have. At least I hope they stand up to him.

I don't consider the BBC to be particularly impartial. Despite what some Americans may think, in my opinion the BBC leans right and is a little too comfortable pushing dominant corporation-approved narratives. That said, I genuinely admire what the BBC does overall.

If he sues in the UK, then: "the biggest defamation award made by a court is believed to be £1.5m."

Is the BBC politically biased?
Judge for yourself.

Right now it does give a lot of coverage to the Reform party,  less to the Conservative party and hardly any coverage to the Lib-Dems.
72 Lib-Dem MP's and only 5 Reform MP's have been elected to Parliament.

No surprise that Trump is still serious.
What the Beeb have failed to understand is that a lower bar exists in the US for litigation than in the UK.

To say that Trump is a litigious person is Putting it mildly and politely as well. Absent politeness, it can be said that Trump is an absolutely shameless con man with criminal intent, who invents ways to enrich himself.

If I say that Trump is a miserable lying pig fucker who eats shit, then I am subject to one of his slander suits. However, my first amendment rights allow me to say such trashy things.

Trump is on shaky ground with his absurd lawsuit against BBC. Whether or not there are grounds for lawsuit, the real purpose I believe, is  that the publicity satisfies his enormous ego.

Even worse than that, Trump cheats at golf.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Commander-Cheat-Explains-brilliant-bestseller/dp/1472266102

He is guilty of all these:
https://sportsquotation.blogspot.com/2011/12/top-five-quotes-about-cheating-in-golf.html#:~:text=3)%20%22Golf%20is%20a%20game,poorly%20and%20the%20players%20well.%22&text=2)%20%22You%20might%20as%20well,for%20not%20robbing%20a%20bank.%22&text=And%20drum%20roll%20please%2C%20my,down%20zero%20on%20the%20scorecard.%22

His favourite trick is to play a Mulligan.
If he doesn't like the shot he's played or the lie of his ball he plays again or drops another ball without penalty.

But he's forced out Deborah Turness from the BBC who should have known about the fake Trump video.
She had a role in BBC Verify.

The BBC is funded by licence payers to the tune of £3.66 billion per year.
That's about the $5 billion Trump is now threatening to sue.

Another resignation announced.

I've known for years that the BBC is biased.
I watch Sky News, not BBC News.

in america i try to use a variety of sources, from cringingly left wing to infuriatingly right. lots of internatioal stuff for perspective too.

i wont sign up for access to media, even if theyre free, because i dont like trackers. so mainstream stuff that costs money io privacy is invisible to me

even the manchester guardian is on again off agai . periodically they tell me i must open an account to continue, and i delete their app. then a week or two later i can get unrestricted access again. i send them money, but i still dont want my name easily accessed there
