Never doubt the damage religions do to humanity.
If religions were TV channels atheism is turning the TV off.

Just the normal stuff for the modern godly leader.

"Robert Morris, former Texas megachurch pastor and Trump adviser, indicted for child sex crimes" | Texas Tribune

QuoteRobert Morris, the Dallas-area megachurch pastor who resigned last year amid sexual abuse allegations, has been indicted in Oklahoma for child sex crimes that date back to the 1980s.

Morris is a former spiritual adviser to President Donald Trump, and Gateway — one of the nation's largest megachurches — has been particularly active in politics. In 2020, Trump held a "Roundtable on Transition to Greatness" there that was attended by then-U.S. Attorney General William Barr and other prominent Republicans.

Morris faces five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child, the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office said in a Wednesday evening press release.

The indictment comes less than a year after Morris resigned from Gateway Church in Southlake after an adult woman, Cindy Clemishire, said Morris repeatedly sexually assaulted her while she was a child in Oklahoma in the 1980s. Morris was at the time working as a traveling preacher.

May the saints preserve us, that is that not an isolated case.

Comes to pass that "youth pastors", all over the place, have been having at sweet little 14, 15, 16 year old girls. By the time a girl is 15 or 16 she will probably have developed a feminine bodily appearance. Horndog pastors and deacons are not blind and they have hormonal urges the same as we heathens do. Jesus forbids even the thought of non connubial encounters with unmarried women, or teen age girls. Hormones and damned poor judgement overwhelms the man of god.

Beware you sinners! Sins of the flesh shall be assessed at the pearly gates....and sometimes at the earthly jail house.

Oh, yes! But if one confesses one's sins before death (and, if I understand the premise of the sacrament of "extreme unction" provided by a Catholic priest) one may proceed directly to heaven. Religion and the wickedness of the men's minds who espouse it...

Heh, I'm not even attempting to keep up with these items, just noting the occasional one. When I ask myself why, I'm not entirely sure of the answer. I've been doing it for years, but it's not a habit as such.  ;D

Yes, mostly the members of this site discuss matters having nothing to do with religion or atheism.  It is an atheist board though -- the hijinks of believers will be noted on occasion.  ;)

An ambitious god-fearing pustule (the current Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction) has previously been mentioned in the Dominionist thread for insisting that every classroom in Oklahoma had to have a Bible purchased by the state. The specifications for the classroom Bibles were met by only two Bibles on the market. One promoted by the future felon president and the other promoted by one of his greasy fail-sons.

In the typical fashion of our deity-ridden brothers (always the brothers) it seems that the Superintendent's adherence to clean-living Christianity sometimes wavers, even in his workplace. That wily fallen angel delights in tormenting these fellows. Or something. :devil2:

"Board members say naked women on TV in Ryan Walters' office during closed session" | The Oklahoman

QuoteAn executive session of the Oklahoma State Board of Education was interrupted when images of naked women were seen on a television screen in the office of state schools Superintendent Ryan Walters, where the session was held, two board members told The Oklahoman.

The board members, Ryan Deatherage, of Kingfisher, and Becky Carson, of Edmond, said they were stunned in the moment by what they saw during the meeting on Thursday, July 24, and remained so on Friday, when they spoke with The Oklahoman.

Board members had been meeting behind closed doors to discuss teacher licensing, student attendance appeals and other sensitive issues. Walters chairs the board.

Carson said the images caught her eye during the meeting. "And I was like, 'Those are naked women,'" she said. "And then I was like, 'No, wait a minute. Those aren't naked, surely those aren't naked women. Something is playing a trick on my eye. Maybe they just have on tan body suits. ... This is just really bizarre.'

"I saw them just walking across the screen, and I'm like, 'no." I'm sorry I even have to use this language, but I'm like, 'Those are her nipples.' And then I'm like, 'That's pubic hair.' What in the world am I watching? I didn't watch a second longer. ... I was so disturbed by it, I was like, 'What is on your TV?' I was very stern, like I'd been a mother or a classroom teacher. And I said, 'What am I watching? Turn it off now!'"

[. . .]

Both Deatherage and Carson said they believe Walters, who has pressed to remove educators he often describes as "bad apples" from Oklahoma classrooms, should be held to the same standards he holds other teachers.

"We are looking at (with) some teachers, that we're deciding if we're going to remove their (teaching) certificate, and for some of them it will be a lifetime ban, for lesser offenses," Carson said. "And yet, I am being exposed to this. It's the accountability for me. We want to make everybody else accountable, but it's time that other people are held accountable as well. ... We all have to be held to the same standards."

Deatherage noted, "We have suspended teaching certificates for less than this."

The Superintendent has said the allegation is a lie, He has also claimed on two different occasions that he's "been cleared" by law enforcement of any accusations of untoward behavior. Oklahoma law enforcement says that's not the case. Given it's Oklahoma I imagine there could some primly worded statute that he's violated.

A reference to claims of abuse against members of the public including a child at a hotel in London.
