Just another silly forum game. The rules are simple, I will begin by describing a brief scenario or situation ending with the question 'what would you do?' and the next person answers and describes another scenario for the someone else to answer. And so it goes... ;D

Here's the situation:

You're waiting in a supermarket checkout queue and an elderly man behind you is verbally harassing everyone in front of him, saying things like, 'this cashier couldn't be slower if she tried!' and 'why do people get so many items?! They keep the queue from moving!'. He targets you as well with some comment on your choice of items.

I'd tell him that he appears to be old enough that he shouldn't be riding the cotton pony. (menstruating)

He takes a swing at me.

What would you do?

Recusant

Depending on my mood and his overall demeanor of course, but I'd likely engage him in conversation about those choices. Could be some entertainment value for all involved, there.

What would you do if somebody put up a large garish sign advertising land for sale, with an arrow pointing toward your house, because they want to sell a parcel of land that shares access with your place?

No one

Strap him down and yank out his teeth.

What would you do if you found out Kent Hovind was your father?

Buddy

Tell him to calm the fuck down. I've actually done that before.
Strange but not a stranger

I love my car more than I love most people.

You find yourself face to face with Trump. What do you do?

(I gave him my very best googly-eyed death stare.)

I'd ask him how long he has been off his meds. Is it because prescription drugs are so obscenely expensive?

Old Seer

Hmmm. I would look at the clock to see what time it is. If it's 0930 I'd say---good morning, happy wake up time.

What would you do if xSomeOne started a game with very simple rules but the anarchic local cats just refused to be herded?

Is a sharp ZAP! via the electrode all HAFers have cranially inserted on joining an option?

Of course.

And the annoying old guy, well I'd pay a twelve year old speech and drama kid to do a rant.
How about a young rap kid?
Oh ye, na, Bolsonaro has probley declared open season on them.

You young whipper snapper, didn't your mother ever teach you how to act right?
In my day a young person knew how to behave in public.
Why don't you get your hair cut, why aren't you in school?
You just get to the end of the line and let your elders through.
Take my advice, don't listen to me.

Bozo has declared open season on everyone but his dearly beloved Trump. However, if wit were bullets he would definitely be in the Stormtropper category...can't hit a thing. Instead he shits through his mouth, as if when the time came to design him God didn't get the two ends of the digestive system right.

:notsure: I guess the perfect response meme would be 'OK boomer!' ;D

In Brazil there are preferential queues for elderly people, pregnant women and people with physical disabilities. I don't know why he didn't go to one of those. ::)

Because in the US, a lot of what goes on is, "Hooray for me, and to hell with you!". I moved from the greater Los Angeles area into a less populated area 17+ years ago. I pulled into a gas station for gas here, and when I went to leave, a person waved me out in front of them. I sat there for a few seconds, trying to figure out why it wasn't their middle finger. Turns out that a lot of places have people who exhibit what I would like to call "common" courtesy, and it seems like Brazil is doing it right. I do see it here at local markets, too. Most places, people are so wrapped up in the competition and "not wanting to be taken advantage of", that they are on guard all the time. OK, I'm rambling, it's late, I'm tired. :offtobed:

If by 'doing it right' you mean making it a law, then yes. ;) On buses there are preferential seats for people in those categories, and there are exclusive parking spaces as well. But many Brazilians being people who try to get away with everything and no fiscalization means you often find young, physically able people are in preferential queues, seats and parking spaces.
