Peace :)

How's everyone?
I'm Malak from Middle East, signed up here because I like to study different beliefs and non-beliefs and I guess this forum is a good place to continue my research and share what I got so far maybe?
What interests me most is the Theory of Evolution!

Welcome! We do have a section that is dedicated to evolution, but we like new posters to stick to the introductory threads for their first ten posts. :)
We're a pretty friendly bunch, for the most part.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

Malak, your participation will surely be welcome. You can learn from us and we can learn from you because you/we can bring  different cultural components to the forum.

Welcome. It is always good to have another voice. One from your part of the world will be very welcome.
It appears to me (whether rightly or wrongly) that direct arguments against Christianity and theism produce hardly any effect on the public; and freedom of thought is best promoted by the gradual illumination of men's minds which follows from the advance of science - Charles Darwin

I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the object of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a god, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism. - Albert Einstein

Religion is a by product of fear. For much of human history, it may have been a necessary evil, but why was it more evil than necessary? Isn't killing people in the name of God a pretty good definition of insanity. - Arther C. Clarke

Faith means not wanting to know what is true. - Friedrich Nietzsche

Yes I was reading in the section regarding the evolution... trying to understand what ex-athiests say in its concern as well.

Are the athiests the only ones who believe in it? Or other religions do as well? Your answer would be much appreciated as I can't post my question there and it may help when I get the chance to :)

I'm afraid that's probably a conversation that's better left to the Evolution section.  ;) Why don't you let everyone get to know you a bit first (with your 10 posts) then you can discuss the bigger questions. It might seem silly, or a bit frustrating, but that's how we do things here :)

Hi! I practice at least a fantasillion of different non-beliefs, but I'm not sure what there is to learn about them... They are all just absense of their respective beliefs.
