My 1st daughter came home from a much larger town/city to stay for six months a few back.
She left for university eight years ago, (did phycology) she visited frequently.
She's the smaller person in this photo:


She's got an internship/job that pays 

Daughter two is off to South Africa to compete in another world championship.

September is a rainy month, so I went to the local store to buy an umbrella. I have a tolerance threshold for searching for items in a supermarket, which isn't very high. So after searching for a couple of minutes I approached a store clerk and asked him where the umbrellas were.

"Onde estão as umbrellas?"

"Huh?"

"Umbrellas. Onde estão?"



It was then that it hit me that I was saying 'umbrellas' in English.  I faked dementia and walked down a random aisle in search of the things I had forgotten the Portuguese word for.

It happens. Every now and then I forget words in Portuguese and in English...that's why the best option is to speak a mixture of the two languages!
