On my mind today, in order of priority, from highest down:

1. Rat has pneumonea
2. Lack of smokes
3. A nasty arm lac from fixing Old Rusty
4. World domination
5. Flamethrowers vs. Somali pirate (I have thought up a solution to both piracy and the food crisis.)
6. Lack of smokes (again, since that one persists)
7, 8, 9 and so on: same as 6.

In Asmo's grey lump,
wrath and dark clouds gather force.

Have him on two different antibiotics, vitamin supplements and some really expensive veterinary brainpower. It is serious, but Small One does stand a good chance with the level of care I provide and the resources I throw at it.  :)

The problem with dealing with rat pneumonea is usually limited resources and unqualified vets, which is exactly why I'm throwing a yearly budget for a third world family at it, so to say, so Small One can have a rodent specialist and all them cool drugs.

Credit card company is gonna love me for this...  :-\ BUT, nothing is too expensive for my beloved Small One  :)

I know what you're talking about. Whenever one of my guinea pigs or hamsters would get sick there usually wasn't much I could do for them. Ordinary vets just can't do much more other than cut overgrown teeth.

Edited to correct spelling.

Best wishes to Asmo's rat.

xSP, how did the exam go?

Asmodean

Indeed. Small One is doing better on antibiotics and vitamins and liquid foods though. And the rodent specialist was very helpful and explained quite well why and how the rat got sick and how to maximise the chances of it not happening again in the future. Well worth the fortune he cost me.

Asmo, how old is Small One?

Ildiko, tiring as hell: two days, one 4 and a half hours long and the second 5 and a half. 90 questions on both days plus an essay to write on the second day. Just being able to finish was a feat in itself.

I need to winge about the lack of hot water.  We, and a few thousand neighbours have had no gas since Sunday (4 days so far) and although we have borrowed electric heating and cooking devices, we are still without hot water.  We have been having spongebaths with a kettle of hot, but my hair mings.  Tomorrow I will waltz into the gym at uni and use one of their showers despite not being a member.  Nobody checks, and uni have a welfare role after all.  It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
No hot water stinks.  Really.
Thanks for reading, sorry about the rant.
Icky,
Willow.

No hot water stinks.
Eventually, it also stinks literally.

I take it your hot water tank is gas-heated?

Have you like... Screamed at the gas company..? Probably wouldn't make them move faster, but to the satisfaction of it, I think you are entitled.
