Hot day, here.

Saw a Muslim man all dressed in white, accompanied by his wife ALL covered in black, burqa included!!

Why are fundamentalist Muslim husbands so cruel to their wives?!

Cruelly fanatical religion, I tell you!!

Islamic Fundamentalism OFFENDS me!

It doesn't offend me, but it is kind of sad. Nothing you can really do about it, though -- they have a right to practice their religion as they see fit (as long as they don't start blowing things up or anything).

Asmodean

Nothing wrong with wearing a tent as long as you do it by choice and do not do it at work if it involves expediting any sort of customers.

Some people are offended by this too:

But I've never known anyone involved in that situation to have any complaints.
To each one's own, I say.

Let's try something new...is there anything that doesn't offend you?

Nice one elliebean. Very accurate.
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

Unless you were in the Middle East when you saw this where the context is such that the women who refuse the burqa are subjected to punishment I don't see why we should be offended by what others wear.

This is a big topic in my household.  I think the problem is a socialy backward culture whose mores haven't yet risen above the tribalism of the early 20th century.  The men have little incentive to evolve, the women are trapped.  Muslims settling in North America, in Canada at any rate, seem often to adopt a Western lifestyle.  See the link below:

With any luck women such as Mozhdah Jamalzadah represent the future of Islam.

I wonder how many do it by choice?  One thing for sure, no woman would wear a burka unless the significant male in her life permitted it, and no woman would remove if he forbid it.

All religions, and particularly Islam, have these horrendous idiosyncrasies, whereby the woman is invariably a victim thereof!
Islam OFFENDS me in the deepest meaning of the word.
Allah OFFENDS me, too.
The so-called "Messenger" OFFENDS me beyond words!
I wish a society where religion has NO place.
ALL religions put together have done nothing of real substance to improve humanity's welfare.
NOTHING!
Prove me wrong if you can.
Islam is the epitome of religious horror, now for 15 centuries.

I will prove you wrong with as much effort as you put into your posts here:

YOU ARE WRONG!

Fininho

OK, I'm wrong and religion is right, fine.
Islam is right, too; sorry and apologies for being so coarsely wrong.
Still friends?
...
I thought that ALL religion was nothing but a capitalistic form of exploiting your natural fears of death, merchandising dogmas for the benefit of a few opportunists.
But since it's your cash you are being robed of, it's not so much my problem, is it?

Simply because you're offended by something doesn't mean someone else shouldn't have the right to do it. Plenty of theists are offended by atheism. Offense isn't an argument.

I do agree that religion is full of ethical problems but so long as the person you saw was in a country where she is free to choose what she wears then it is her decision to wear whatever she wants and marry whatever nut-job she wants to marry.

Yes, well put; cannot disagree.
