I ask theists if God is omnipotent. They say yes.
I ask theists if God loves us. They say yes.
I read the news paper or look on the web or remember other people's sad stories or remember things that happened to me...and I see that no omnipotent entity loves us.
I ask theists if they can prove their god. They can't.
So, I have excellent reason to

My fiancé and I are approaching a gamer crisis.  I am super excited for Fable 3 while he is super excited about Fallout New Vegas.  And that's completely ignoring black ops which will be out in November.  Damn this 60 dollar a game habit!

Lern 2 wait a month.  I have NEVER paid $60 for a game (though my wife bought God of War 3 for me brand new when I didn't want her to).  I wait a month and they mysteriously become a reasonable price.

The dude has that gamer need to play the games he's really excited about the first day they drop, but I think he may have to be patient this time, especially since we just dropped some ducats for tickets to ZomBcon.  Though to his credit, he has way more restraint now then he used to.  I, on the other hand, have gotten worse.  Though most likely what I'll do is wait to get Fable until this quarter of school is over since that game might seriously affect my ability to study.   :eek2:

What's more important?  To spend the money to get the game or to save the money in exchange for a month of itchy nuts?  I have to admit that it sucks wanting and waiting, and it sucks that everyone puts a little spoiler here and a little spoiler there until the story of the game is completely known to me, but I wouldn't have half the games I do if I bought new.

I would be playing >40 hrs a week if i wasnt in grad school, but I get to play at least 10 - 15 hrs per week

My current games are:
Battlefield: BC 2
Fallout: NV

Also I love Bioshock and Half Life 2, Madden, L4Dead, Borderlands...Mainly FPS games

All xbox360

I own a Wii but I dont play it much which seems to be true for a lot of gamers.
I also played WOW too for 2 years, but not anymore, Im over that :(

This thread is awesome... <3

Used to play some WoW, then realized how much time and money I had sunk into it - and that was for one level 70! Whew.

I love a good RPG, and have as of late switched to more action-adventure games. I seem to have less time each year for games (with kids, work, and now a house!) but I haven't lost any of my completionist tendencies. So now I get shorter games, spend a good amount of time getting a plat trophy and still feel that inner satisfaction.

Right now I'm looking forward to Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit, as I loved Burnout Paradise and need a good racing game. Considered GT5 for a bit, but I was never too into the racing 'sims' - I'm more of an arcade style racer.

Stopped playing a while ago and its been sporadic since then. Gonna give Cat' a go though.

Steam has stuff going cheap, I'm a bit out of touch with most of it though.

I picked up "Amnesia: dark descent" during last week's sale.  Pretty good so far...

AnimatedDirt

I used to play Counterstrike a few years back.  I played probably 2-3 hours a day (way too much).  But after going through 3 PCs in 1 year due to HD problems, graphic cards going bad, memory losing memory and all kinds of virus problems, I made the switch to Mac.  At the time there was no CS for Mac so I had to quit cold-turkey.  I never played again.  Loved that game, but even when I quit, it was evolving into something I wasn't enjoying as much as the early CS game play.  I was one hot sniper, though.

btw, I still have that original Macbook and it works great still.  It's had zero problems and zero virus' from day one.  We are a Mac only home.  ;)  I've not taken a look at CS in a long time.  I wonder what it's like now.

Got a friend who works for Microsoft and is getting me the hookup on a 360. Actually it'll be the console, kinects, and 8 games of my choice for 200 bucks. Super-badass ecksmas present to myself.
Gonna definitely get NCAA football as one of the games, but would like some suggestions for the other 7. Mainly looking to find out what games are best with the kinects thing from those of you who have it or have played it.

These are the games I consistently play now and love:
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Fallout 4

Also I highly recommend
Half Life 2 - It's in the orange box which comes with Portals which is also an amazing game
Bioshock (2 is out and its good but I still think 1 is better)
Madden 2011
Mass Effect 2
Halo Reach

Make sure you play the demos if you can to see if you like them.  You can try finding them online (http://store.steampowered.com/)  and playing the PC version if you don't know anyone with an xbox.  Also watch reviews from escapist magazine.

I mainly play first person shooters, but it depends on what kind of games you like.  If you like sandbox role playing games than oblivion, red dead redemption and fallout are great, if you like linear type role playing games I would consider ninja gaiden (I've only played the first one) Assassins Creed: Brotherhood and Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Can't help you with the kinect or any real time strategy, racing games or 1 on 1 fighting games.

If you get on xbox live pm me for my gamertag :)

LegendarySandwich

I just got a PS3 this week, and I've been playing my only game I have for it thus far, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, online a lot -- getting my rank up, gaining new weapons, and such. If anyone wants to play with me, my PSN ID is LegendarySammich.
