I'd ask who missed me, but I've been away so long it'll be cause for surprise if anyone here remembers me.   :)

No worries, I came back because I don't think there is another forum on the internet quite as stimulating as this one.  I'll probably stay in the background until I can get caught up on current discussions.   I'm disappointed to see that there are no creationists around who are looking to get railed, some of those threads were outright entertaining.

Oh, and nice new (to me) logo for the site, Whitney!

G'day PipeBox, creationists still come by to save or condemn us, they can be funny.

Welcome back. What did you get up to on your travels?

Welcome back mate! Your familiar avatar returns as well :)
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

Hey there, PipeBox, welcome back (it's been almost exactly a year, hasn't it?)  I remember you; I found your posts both informative and well written.  I even looked at the "Fairytale" forum to see if you'd decided to make your home amongst the Creationists, and saw that you'd stopped posting there about the same time you stopped here. (I occasionally look in there, but have never bothered posting.)  I'm glad to see you back.

Wow, glad to seem some familiar faces (and a couple new ones, too)!

Just about the only "forum" I've been active on for the past year was reddit.  Not you guys, or even the creationists (well, sort of the creationist) but I got so tired of seeing such bad non-arguments, especially from that fairytale forum.  There seemed to be very little point tackling the arguments as an intellectual exercise and, well, creationists don't really change even if you demolish their arguments.  Christians, sure, sometimes.  I deconverted a friend while I was away, and since then his life has improved.  Spiffy.  Think I'll introduce him to this place.  He's a bit more sacrilegious than me, but he's only been an atheist for a couple months and given how his religion taunted him (he was NOT happy with how things were with his Christianity), I think he's earned it.  I'll remind him to be civil, though.  Rationality is valued here far beyond throwing profanity at the "other team".

What?  You were gone?

Just kidding, welcome back.  Good to hear all is well.
