Woohoo England and the US!!

I must say, the US team are fricking awesome! They might not have the best players in the world but by golly do they have spirit! Any team who fights that hard, even in the face of such bad luck, deserves to see glory. I think they will get to the semi finals if they keep playing like that.

England were ok i guess but i fear germany will kick our asses.

Bye, bye, Italy. Another "great" team failed to get to the next round. For this evening, I hope that Denmark wins from Japan and the Netherlands from Cameroon (Hup Holland, hup!). BTW: I think that England will win from Germany this weekend! The German team is just too young and inexperienced.

Shocker about Italy!

I am Scottish and half Danish. Nearly kick off against Japan.  :yay:

Japan deserved that, far more than the Danes did.

So many times I was shouting at my TV: "What are you doing just staring at them!!?? Dae something!!!"

I hope Japan go far.

Agreed. Japan really looked good and wanted to win.

I wholeheartedly agree. You could tell it meant everything to them. I am sorry for my fellow Danes! Hopefully, its a lesson learned.

I have been really excited for a couple days about tomorrow - Portugal vs Brazil!

I am very happy its a group match. I would be disappointed to see either Portugal or Brazil go before the knock out stage.

Who knows, maybe its a dry run if they meet in the final!

I feel sorry for the Danish, but Japan was this evening the better team.
Poor Cameroon, they played pretty well, but lost all their games.

I do still very sorry for the Danes and the better side went through. Japan left no doubt about that.

It might just be a passing-back fest. They are both already through. I hope it is a good game though.

I was cheering for Japan tonight. They were amazing, especially Honda. His free kick was Beckham-esque. They are certainly ones to watch because if they play like that again, they are finalist contenders.

One tends to think of the Japanese stereotype as rather dower and serious, but those players looked like they were really enjoying themselves, great to watch. And why did Italy only bother to play for 20 minutes?
