I use to be an atheist but I found out that I am god.

Hello everyone, I'm here cause I love to discus Science and Religion, Pseudoscience, paranormal belief, Evolution, natural selection, homosexuality, overpopulation, abortion, assisted suicide, etc etc. When I talk to people around me about these controversial issues, they have no idea what I'm talking about and tend not to want to be disturb from living outside their fantasy world.

My controversial conversations usually arise form "them" often questioning me about my religious beliefs and my belief in a "god". So my cynic response is always the same. To which religion and which god/s are you referring? The god of the first causes? The god who is upset if an adolescent boy enjoys the picture in Play Boy, but who does nothing to alleviate the misery of a million starving third world children? Or the god who is fighting Satan, that evil force behind the teachings of evolution?
My religious beliefs (or lack of them) doesn't stop me from supporting a world free from superstition, from irrational religious guilt, from unreasoning fears of hell and damnation, from religious bigotry, intolerance and oppression, and from religious wars. When it comes to what to believe regarding the universe, I rely strongly on the scientific method. I don't rely on authority, or "inner knowing", or any form of anecdotal, so called evidence.
Science is a very powerful tool for discovering, NOT what is right or wrong, NOT what is good or evil, but only, based on the empirical evidence, what appears to be true or false. Science has proven itself over and over to be the most powerful tool we have ever discovered for understanding how our bodies, our world and our universe works-not the way we might want things to work, but the way things actually work. For which reason I am committed to the application of reason, science and compassion for the solving of human problems rather than relying on supernatural answers or religious dogmas.
I support democracy and the separation of church and state. I see all humans as part of a world community. I'm in favor of women's rights, including the right to terminate and early unwanted pregnancy; and believe that consenting adults should be free to express in private their sexuality in whatever form is right for them.
"Extraordinary Claims require extraordinary evidence" yeah Carl Sagan was the one who said that.  But, while supporting evidence strengthen our beliefs, negative evidence seldom weakens them, just like a ratchet in tightening a nut.

Oh, crap.  Do we have to worship YOU now?!  :D

Welcome.  Hate to say it, but you're mostly preaching to the  choir.  Although I very much like how you're preaching.

Hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.  I'm new as well.

We're actually all very conservative Baptists here. We just like to lure in so called atheists and "freethinkers".

Well, you've done a pretty good darn job, I am now hocked.  ;)

By the way, at one point in time, in my life, I wanted to become a Jehovah's witness but too bad I didn't see the accident.
