"In America you vote for government...in Soviet Russia government votes for you!" he said with a horrible Yakov Smirmov impression.

(my spelling, grammer, and punctuation suck, I know, but regardless of how much I read they haven't improved much since grade school. It's actually a bit of a family joke.

The Russian press recently reported that Gordon Brown had gone to the Queen to tell her he no longer wanted to be the Prime Minister and to give the job to David Cameron! No mention of an election or anything  lol

They do exactly the same thing in the US Congress.

Really?

While I don't doubt this happens in our congress to some extent we have NEVER had a 99.8% percent majority. Let alone alow what looks like 3 or 4 people doing all the voting. They aren't even pretending it's a democracy.

Ok, "exactly" was a little strong..... and now that I think about it, I can't be entirely certain that the report I'm remembering (vaguely) wasn't about a state legislature.    It was at least a couple of years ago. At any rate, in the footage I saw, they appeared to be a lot more lazy about it and only voted on behalf of those who would have been seated adjacent to them.
