You know the deal. Three things, in order of priority, that you'd want with you on a desert island. They don't have to be related to being an atheist, but a copy of The God Delusion would certainly be encouraged.  :D

Cecilie

I would definitely bring another person with me (does that count?),
I would also bring a bottle and a knife.
Boring, I know, but very practical.  :P
The world's what you create.

Kylyssa

1. An enormous thermos bottle full of thyroid pills, otherwise I'd be dead in about two weeks.
2. A large stockpot with a lid, the kind that has a handle.  To be used to evaporate seawater or to carry freshwater.  At the very least I could use it to collect dew at night.
3. A sturdy hunting knife.

Davin

1) Rum
2) Solar powered computer
3) A Large Knife
Always question all authorities because the authority you don't question is the most dangerous... except me, never question me.

pinkocommie

1. fiancé (at first I thought 'I'd bring my son!' but then I realized that he's 6 and living the rest of his life on a deserted island with his mom and then ultimately alone probably isn't what he wants for his life)
2. knife
3. solar powered hand held with emulators for every game ever.
Ubi dubium ibi libertas: Where there is doubt, there is freedom.

1) A very large Towel

Tanker

I'm a practical sort when it comes to survival. That's why this type of thought expiriment has never made much sense to me. If you were to ask my 3 favorite things that would be different. Here goes.

1. A multi-tool
2. an ax
3. a fire starter

Whats the point of bringing luxuries if you won't live long enough to enjoy them? I know I don't play in the 'spirit' but like I said a practical sort.

I've been in fox holes, I'm still an atheist -Me-

God is a cake, and we all know what the cake is.

(my spelling, grammer, and punctuation suck, I know, but regardless of how much I read they haven't improved much since grade school. It's actually a bit of a family joke.

kenh

All of Philip K. Dick's novels.  They would keep me entertained and after reading a number of them I would become crazy and not care any more.
(Sci-Fi fans will know what I mean.)

Tanker

Oooh I know how about a helicopter, fuel, and a pilot.

Endure:

2) Lifesaver Water Purifier
3) The best survival knife I could possibly find.

Entertainment:
1) iPad w/ solar charger
2) An original printing of The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway.
3) My copy of Ulysses by Joyce. It's the best book ever written.

Exploration:
1) Compass
2) Binoculars
3) One of those flashlights that's attached to a band around your head.

Escape:
1) Axe/Shovel
2) Rope. Lots of super-strong nylon rope.
3) Life preserver
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

Claire Danes? No. Dawn French, she'd last a lot longer.
