Also I never even went to the Dawkins one before it succumbed to natural selection, can anyone confirm/deny that this is in fact the old forum gone zombie-jesus?

Yes, the old forum has gone, along with most of the archives because the IT guy running the Dawkins website banned most of the mods and prolific posters and deleted tens of thousands of previous posts, nazi style. Apparently he didn't like people questioning his motives for the change. Had i been a contributor to that forum, i would have been as pissed off as most of its members so rightly are.

It sounds like a bit of own goal for Dawkins, to be honest.
