Fallen Jedii

Quote from: "pinkocommie"Is anyone planning on getting Bioshock 2 tomorrow?  I heard the single person play is pretty lame, that they focused more on the multi-player aspects of the game.

Unfortunately, I am currently snowed in here in Jersey, and am unable to buy the game.

As for the single player campaign, I completely disagree. Bioshock was one of the more memorable games that I purchased in the past. The story was deep, and made you think, or at least it made me think. If you haven't bought the first game I'd recommend buying that first. It really lays the story out nicely.

On a side note, has anyone heard of the game Heavy Rain(PS3)? The game looks terrific, not to mention suspenseful and terrifying. I'm thinking about buying this game in the near future as well.

I've played the first Bioshock and agree with you about the story.  That's why I was surprised to hear that Bioshock 2 had gotten weak reviews for it's single player campaign.  I'm playing it now and it seems like it's a short single player game, which may be why people aren't thrilled with the single player this go around.  It's still pretty awesome, though.   And multiplayer is very halo/quake-ish which is fun.  :D

Yeah, according to a review in the PS3 magazine (I have the PS3), the writer said that there weren't really any memorable bosses like Dr. Steinman or Sander Cohen, which is dissappointing.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to buying it. Modern Warfare is getting tiring.

i cant wait!! even my g/f is excited about that one. she is a drunk wii fan and doesnt like pushing buttons and hasnt conquered the "challenges" of a real controller. to give you an idea of the “challenge level” she faces moving forward in shooter games is difficult. so im half way hoping that heavy rain doesnt have a challenging control layout. my selfish half really could care less and is still excited though. i have a feeling a lot of the good guys are going to disappear though.... seeming i die alot in video games.

SC2 Beta is officially out.  It's closed though, so you can only play if you have a beta key.

I got the installer though.  Staring at the login screen will have to suffice for now :/

I just beat Bioshock 2 and while it wasn't as memorable as the first, I was still very happy with it. I loved every minute of it and it had it's own cool twists. I still have yet to really get into the multi player, only tried a match or two so far. .But it seemed cool.

I'm now highly addicted to "Angy Birds" on my iPod Touch (http://www.rovio.com/index.php?page=angry-birds). Hours and hours of fun.

How about you? I remember being excited about a few of the upcoming expansions back then. Did they ever implement the avatars? (So that you can get out of your ship.) If so, how is it?

Played for about 6 months, then took a break for a few months, then just recently got back into it.  Still no avatars, even though a new expansion came out less than a month ago ( Ppl who make the best games generally fail at finishing stuff very quick.)

You are playing at the moment? Cool. I'm just getting into my second year playing. I've just started my own corp and will have a starbase up and running in about a month. I love Eve. I love how uncompromising it is.

Are you in a player or NPC corp? We should hook up in game.

I've just been earnestly watching the PS3 calendar bug unveil. There's ridiculous amounts of misinformation floating around. Here are the facts:

  • It only affects older, "fat" PS3s.
  • It has nothing to do with the PSN.
  • Even if your PS3 has never been connected to the internet, it will still be affected.
  • Slim PS3s are fine.
  • Even debugging platforms on developers' consoles are affected.
  • It will be fixed.

Just wish I could play Heavy Rain. Good thing I already beat it once.

PS3 thing is fixed, it thought 2010 was a leap year.  PS3 fanboys can resume their normally scheduled bashing the XBox 360's hardware problems.

And I've no doubt they will, heh. Happy I could go back to playing Heavy Rain, though. Even the wife is enthralled with the story. It's just so damn good.
