Hello, folks. It's great to be back in black, ladies and gents! Today we are unveiling the very special grand opening of *drumroll* Renegnicat's Avatar Request Shop!

Feeling a little down cause you're forced to rely on mass marketed avatars? Don't know how to create your own? Do you just suck at life?  

Text: Optional Text for your personalized avatar! The avatar will be 80x80 pixels, so you can't put a whole lot before it becomes unintelligible. But it's good for...stuff.  

Here's a free sample of the work I provide: It's an anime girl, but I can draw a wide variety of things, even landscapes!

That's awesome Renegnicat. I'd like an avatar. As many hues as you like. I would like it to convey meaninglessness or absurdity. I know that's a bit of a paradox but I also know you like paradoxes. Also, can I have one that's not square? I don't mean to be difficult. 79 x 80 is fine. I can crop off the middle column of pixels myself if it's a nuisance. Just so you don't put anything important there, you know?

Maybe Sisyphus? That could be interpreted as either meaningless or absurd, which is like a double whammy!

I didn't like the idea of drawing sisyphus on such a small avatar, because two of the basic elements of the story are very large, the mountain and the boulder, with respect to sisyphus. To draw them in correct proportion would make it hard to distinguish what was going on.

But, lacking a specific subject matter other than "meaninglessness" and "absurdity", I was kind of in a bind with respect as to what I would draw! In the end, I decided on drawing a type of mandalic ring. For one, mandalic symbolize the pathway of life. If you notice, the pathway is circular. I can hardly come up with a better example of meaninglessness than traveling along a circular path, you know?

You may notice some little blobs in certain parts of the avatar. Those blobs were actually faceless figures looking for the way out of the circle. I had drawn them in great detail, but alas, because the image was so small, they just look like little blobs. And not figures.

Mine is me, so I think I'm gravy. But this is a cool thread!

I love it Renegnicat. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I think the metaphor of the circle, as I interpret it, is like Nietzsche's idea of living life in such a way that you would want to live it over and over. The circle is more absurd than meaningless. And I like the wavy line around the circle. That's like the story of what you have done.

I don't want you to spend any more time on this unless you want to. But these are the things you could change if you do =). I'll try to keep it simple assuming you still have the layers. I'm more into heavy metal than blue skies. That could be rectified with a black background. Or here's a quote from Nietzsche's The Gay Science with lots of possibilities for the background.

Indeed, we philosophers and "free spirits" feel, when we hear the news that "the old god is dead," as if a new dawn shone on us; our heart overflows with gratitude, amazement, premonitions, expectation. Dawns, horizons and open seas all appeal to me.

Also, I think any kind of text gives it explicit meaning. I don't need to explain myself =).

Lastly, if the little blobs could be replaced with a single little blob, that better expresses me. Or how about making the ring white hot at a single point in time with a short decay going through red hot to cold to indicate it is moving (running fast preferably) and obviously counter-clockwise in my case =).

But, if it's not what you had in mind, just say so, and I'll re-do your request for free!   I like the idea of chess and knights. Seemed fitting.
