Apologists making up facts

Can it be? No, apologists don't make shit up to defend their belief in a God.  Obviously there is evidence for God and these people just recorded the facts and are telling you the numbers right?  I mean what kind of a douche bag would make shit up to "prove" the existence of God?  Well this one does and see the response when he gets called out on it.

What this is, is a series of six e-mails between an apologist and an atheist which was edited for anonymity.  Watch how someone recorded the apologists lecture and when called out on his "facts" he plays a dodge the question game.  I wonder if all apologists do this?  Just blatantly make shit up, and call it scientifically proven facts.  What are your thoughts on this?

It was great.  Why would you dodge these type of questions unless you are full of shit?  I mean give the source and let the guy verify it unless the source is your ass.  Can you imagine if that douche actually converted people there?  Converting people based on lies.

I know! Oh, man, it was beautiful. He wasn't even that rude or anything. At first, though, I thought the professor wasn't too bad. But subsequent posts...

I wonder why the guy didn't call him out at the talk itself?

He was rude ... well he was short and blunt.  I didn't think the apologist was that bad at first too.  But after about 2 paragraphs he started whining and dodging.  One part that really made me laugh was when the apologist was called out on his numbers.  He was using bad numbers and when called out on it he tried to play it off.

Oh and it sounds like the guy did call him out at the talk afterwards and was ignored.  Thats why he wrote the e-mails.

It amazes me that people can support their beliefs with lies. I mean, surely, for this guy to go about evangelising about his god, he must have a strong belief, but if fabricating evidence to support it, he obviously is fully aware of what he is doing. I wonder how to reconciles the facts that

He believes in bible god
bible god says not to lie
there is insufficient evidence for bible god, which he then fabricates.

The whole process is madness, you are effectively admitting the inadequacy of your beliefs, while trying to convince others of how right you are. The level of cognitive dissonance must be sky high. As soon as I was lowered to making up facts in support of my beliefs, I would seriously start to question them. There must be something else driving his belief in god, since he knows the scientific evidence is shoddy, why cant he let his argument rest on those foundations instead of fallacious ones?

If I had to guess I'd say the real reason why he doesn't tell people why he believes what he does is because the real reason either sounds unimpressive or is a very weak position to argue from.  Because my dad beat me when I expressed disbelief is not a good point to argue from at all lol

Me too. I mean, making up stories about ape men that no one in history can document isn't even a good lie in the science fiction world.  roflol

Agreed...people shouldn't fake evidence for big foot.  Now, learn how to stay on topic.
