I'd turn it into a school and forum (the real world version). I'd hire capable teachers of biology, physics, chemistry, technology, philosophy, logic, history, and art, invite people in off the street to be a part of bettering themselves. There would be knowing debates held by average people on any and every subject in the spirit of personal and intellectual growth and honesty.

I'd call it The Forum, and I'd live in a cot in the back and love every day of the rest of my life.

Will's idea is excellent and something like that would be my preference too.

I would be tempted to turn it into a place where volunteer activities are coordinated and a forum where people can exchange ideas. I am strongly in favor of helping people take responsibility for change in their community and beyond. I think that what we are responsible for, i.e. what we do, is all that defines us.

I know this will ruin my credibility again but I can't resist... If it isn't being used as a place of worship, what makes it a church? It seems that if it isn't being used as a place of worship it is simply a building.

I'd go for either a school or a volunteer organization. Maybe a shelter for victims of domestic abuse or children in need. Maybe a shelter/school?

an animal shelter. Something like a mini SPCA I see on animal planet. I am sick of finding injured animals and not knowing where to take them.

Many churches trying to keep their building are doing what Will, Alp, Chimera have suggested. Well maybe not Will. His ideas would be more that they could handle.

I'd love to do something like that. I live near Los Alamos, and I'd like to see if i could tap the various researchers up there to do free lectures on whatever scientific subject they are experts in they want to wax simple about. Perhaps hook up with the local community college too.
