Psalm23

Quote from: "BuckeyeInNC"
Quote from: "Psalm23"I'm sorry to inform you, but the bible gives details to Jesus' appearance.

More made up crap by Psalm23?

Exactly where in YOUR bible does it "give details."
"He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed." - Isaiah 53:2-5

According to Leviticus 19:27 and 21:5 in a reference to the hair between the head and the cheek, it is forbidden to destroy the "corners" of the beard.
"Wash me clean, set me free, hold me closer, cover me" - David Crowder - My Hope

There are no details as to ANY physical appearance in that citation of Isiah.

Try again . . .

Regarding your Leviticus cite, are we to believe that Jesus was a devout follower of those laws?  That is funny because Christians do NOT follow the laws of Leviticus.  According to the Epistle of the Hebrews and Corinthians, Jesus left Leviticus behind.

I feel like a man fighting a midget.  I hold you at distance with my hand on your head and you continue to swing away with futility.  Quite amusing.

QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

I follow the laws of GOD. Jesus Christ manifest. Jesus set the laws in concrete. Jesus left behind no laws!

"I did not come to abolish the laws of old, but to fulfill them!" - Jesus Christ 32 A.D.

Jesus did not discard of any laws in the bible.. are you nuts??!!

Getting a little testy are we?  I know, its a hard job to keep track of all of the lies in the Bible and to try to make sense out of it all.  Yet, you ask me if I am nuts.  Quaint . . .

Again, you "quote" Jesus without citation.  But, lets assume that your premise is true.  That Jesus INTENDED to uphold all of the laws, including those of Leviticus.

I could ask you some personal questions regarding you following ALL of the laws of God, but I won't make this personal to you.  Unless, you really would like to prove to us that you do indeed follow ALL OF THE LAWS.  That would be quite entertaining!!  Assuming that you are NOT prepared to do that, lets just stick with Jesus and christianity . ..

In the New Testament of Acts, where the Apostles made it clear that Gentiles only needed to the first four requirements of Leviticus in order to gain salvation (including circumcision, which added to the difficulty of converting.  "You want me to do what with what!?!)  Acts 15

Further, Paul was quite clearly anti-nomianistic.  Colossians 2.  Heck, he was even chastised by the other devotees for encouraging this view, particularly when Paul suggested that circumcision was not necessary.  Acts 21:21

See also, Romans 6:14-15 "For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace"

Or how about Galatians?  "You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard?" Galatians 3:1-5

"Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law." Galatians 3:23-25

There is also the Old Covenant versus the New Covenant . . .

I could go on and on, but I will leave that to you to study YOUR BIBLE.

If you are unfamiliar with these concepts.  Google Antinomianism.

OOOH!!! Here is another siting of the magical man!!

It may not be immediately obvious to everyone, but one family are convinced they can see the face of Jesus on the lid of a jar of Marmite.

Claire Allen, 36, said she was the first to notice the image on the underside of the lid as she was putting the yeast spread on her son's toast.

Her husband Gareth, 37, said he could not believe his eyes when he saw it.

Mr Allen, of Ystrad, Rhondda, said: "The kids are still eating it, but we kept the lid."

He explained: "Claire saw it first and called her dad to come and take a photo of it.

"When I first looked at it I wasn't sure, but when I moved it away from me it started coming out. I thought yeah, she's right - that's the image of Jesus.

People might think I'm nuts, but I like to think it's Jesus looking out for us

Claire Allen
Mrs Allen said her 14-year-old son Jamie had also remarked on the likeness.

She told the South Wales Echo: "Straight away Jamie said 'that looks like God', and my other boys (Robbie, four, and Tomas, 11) even said they could see a face.

"People might think I'm nuts, but I like to think it's Jesus looking out for us.

"We've had a tough couple of months; my mum's been really ill and it's comforting to think that if he is there, he's watching over us."

Yes! This is what I've been searching for! Now I can believe!

I guess religious people are getting pretty desperate to find proof of god. What a joke.

you people are damned to doom and darkness for all eternity!!

i pity you.

If you are strong enough in your faith to hold onto your faith after bearing witness to everything that contradicts your beliefs your would not be much of a christian would you?

The same applies to atheists, if all it took was a shadow to change the way we see the world, then we probably wouldn't ever have failed to believe in religion.

I just love this topic, so I keep coming back to it.

Pareidolia

From wikipedia:

The term pareidolia (pronounced /pærɪˈdoÊŠliÉ™/) describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hearing hidden messages on records played in reverse. The word comes from the Greek para- â€""beside", "with" or "alongside"- meaning, in this context, something faulty or wrong (as in paraphasia, disordered speech)â€"and eidolonâ€""image" (the diminutive of eidosâ€""image", "form", "shape"). Pareidolia is a type of apophenia.

Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. The term was coined in 1958 by Klaus Conrad,[1] who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness".

That image is clearly not Jesus, it's obviously Lemmy Kilmister.

Since Jesus = God, and Lemmy IS God, I guess in some weird sort of way, you could say it's a picture of Jesus. But it is quite definitely Lemmy.
Life in Lubbock, Texas taught me two things. One is that God loves
you and you're going to burn in hell. The other is that sex is the
most awful, dirty thing on the face of the earth and you should save
it for someone you love.
