Spousal rape is sadly nothing new. It was only included as a human rights violation by the UN since 1993, by 97 only 17 states had criminalized it, by 2003, 50 had done so, in 2006 it was up to 104, though to this day four states only consider it a crime if the couple were judicially separated at the time. In the US the majority of states consider it a lesser crime than rape. In modernity the majority of the western world have criminalized spousal rape, but the majority of the rest of the world have not.

Hail America, vanquisher of the Taliban and disgusting religious law... oh wait.

Dude that's terrible. And the UN just continues to stand around with their thumbs firmly up their asses. Our world is so screwed up. Why didn't our troops do something about the rock throwing? I heard on the news that protesters(All female) were pelted with stones. Those guys ever hear of chivilry? I hope some of our southern soldiers over there kick those guys' asses.

I'd heard about a similar issue(Not sure which country) where an 8 year old girl was forced to marry a 47 year old to settle her father's debt. The mother objected to the marriage but the court denied her appeal. That's just frickin disgusting. Why do we even have a UN if there not going to do anything about issues like this? And what about the genecides in rwanda and darfur?

How self-centered and autocratic of you. What gives you the right to force your moral values onto others who(m) you disagree with? You can believe, through religious freedom, that women and men are equal. You may not, however, impose your beliefs on others and interfere with a man's right to control his own penis.
