:rant1: Who washes dishes in cold water? I do!

I rarely get hypothermic hands and fingers but if my hands could speak they would scream. I wonder if it's possible to scream in sign language? :notsure: What would that even look like?  ;D

They dry much faster if the water is hot.

Cold water!? Never!
I wash them in very hot water. People ask me, "How can you stand that temperature!" I don't have a problem with it. It's kind of relaxing.  :notsure:

I have no problem with extremely hot water for dish washing. Neither does the machine.  ;D

Some things do need hand washing; they get done with gloves. The temperature of the water only aids in drying time, since a proper washing and rinsing will remove all the bad stuff.

Back in the bad old days of machining, we rinsed parts in hot water to ensure rapid drying, since they were made of steel or iron. They didn't rust as quickly as a result.

I don't know, but I think colder water is easier on the skin. Mine on my hands is already dry as it is (I may wash them a little too frequently).

I've been using a lotion with oatmeal in it. Works really well, but not greasy.

And you can lick it off your hands for breakfast.
