I have a random thought: there seems to be an awful lot of fussing from conservatives about liberals imagined food lives lately. 

In FB posts I'm seeing frequent "insults" like soy boy and herbivore man.  I'm used to conservatives fussing about what they think others are getting up to sexually, but I can't remember seeing so much focus on diet before.

Now that you mention it, I dimly remember that soy report.  But there's more food obsessions on the Right than just the soy, some of them really go into a froth over avocado toast.  Not because there's anything specifically wrong with it -- harvested by slave labor, farms owned by drug lords or whatever -- but solely because people in a certain age range are said to like eating it.  It's just weird.  Maybe it's that people posting on FB are weirder than average.

I do target (only) shooting as a sport. I'm a member of a gun forum so that I can ask and answer questions on how to improve my marksmanship. I'd venture to say that 99.9% of those people just love the chump(R). They're not allowed to discuss politics in the general forum; they have to go to a specific forum called, I kid you not, "The Minefield". One has to request permission, which I will never do. I can only imagine how virulent it is, given some of what I've seen spill over and has to be cleaned up. These people fit the bill for calling someone "soy boy", but aren't allowed those sorts of attack in the general forums.

People have sigs like, "Here kitty kitty!", "If my president doesn't believe the US intelligence agencies, neither do I!", etc. There are probably 8 people who are liberal and will call out the egregious behavior.

I'm still a registered Republican, but I haven't voted that way in a long time. I just got a letter from the Republican party asking me to help with a census. I think I'll give them a piece of my mind and then go re-register as a Democrat affiliate.
