I know this is a very cliche thread on a forum, but I am interested on this one. You all are different than the other forum I go to.

So what kind do you all listen to? I have no idea :p which is why I'm so interested. Especially feeling like I'm the youngest one here, I think what I listen to is most likely different.

I like rock/metal/some rap, I can stand R&B and that stuff, and country at times. I actually don't mind Bluegrass :p (but it's not the first on my list, of course). But I love Progressive stuff, I love the complexity of it all.
My favorite bands:
All-time favorite: Dream Theater (Progressive rock/metal, only heard them scream in ONE song out of all their albums, and it was a light background one, it was called In The Name Of God :p, great song), these guys are just... AMAZING. Definitely one of the most talented bands ever arranged.
The Human Abstract (Progressive metal)
Between the Buried and Me (Progressive metal)
Into Eternity (Metal, with some progressive influence)
System of a Down (Rock)
Seether (Rock)
(OLD) Avenged Sevenfold (Nu Metal, I think, to be specific)
Senses Fail (Even though I haven't heard much of them) (Rock)
Hellyeah (Ehh... Metal)
Job For A Cowboy (DEFINITELY metal)

Can't remember anymore right now xD

I don't if you all have heard of any of them, but I LOVE the first 3 of those.

Devin Townshend Band/Strapping Young Lad
Shadows Fall
Five Finger Death Punch
Queensryche
Lillian Axe
Vision Divine

Those are all the ones of those I've heard of. Yeah we got Damageplan's 1 CD, unfortunately they could only do one... It's a shame.
Lol I forgot about SYL, haven't listened to them in forever. I got Shadows Fall, like 3 songs on my iPod, but we got a whole on of their albums on my computer, I think. If not, my older brother has one. I got Iced Earth's "The Glorious Burden" CD in my iPod and in my room, I got "Terror Train" by Demons Wizards on my iPod, and a few random Killswitch Engage, though I don't listen to them really. And "Leeches" by In Flames, also, though I don't really listen to it.
And yay you got DT on there :p

Oh yeah, been listening to DT since for a long time.  I remember getting the When Dream and Day Unite album - honestly I thought it was cool but wasn't super impressed and then getting Images and Words and I was like "wow, now I'm impressed".

I first heard "Panic Attack" on Octavrium after my dad had just gotten it (He's been listening to them for a long time), then been listening to them since then. I have heard all of Octavrium, except for Octavrium :p, Train of Thought, Systematic Chaos, and Scenes From A Memory. I have heard some of IAW, I love Metropolis Pt. 1: The Miracle and The Sleeper (Did I get that right?) on there, that is an absolutely amazing song. Then I've started listening to Awake.

Awake is an awesome album, definitely their darkest one I think.

Godless

Flyleaf
Fireflight
The Subways
Disturbed
Rammstein
Paramore
Breaking Benjamin
Coldplay
Evanescence
Three Days Grace
System of a Down
The Pistolas

The funny thing is, Flyleaf and Fireflight are considered "Christian bands." Is it weird for an atheist to be listening to Christian bands?

Why would religious belief impede a band's ability to play music? I sometimes listen to Christian radio when I'm driving just because the lyrics are generally quite positive and uplifting even though they're mostly nonsense. It's like watching a science fiction movie. You have to suspend your disbelief :)

Not at all, I still rock Stryper sometimes:

How odd. If my iPod were to be accidentally exchanged with yours, I don't think either of us would notice.
Life in Lubbock, Texas taught me two things. One is that God loves
you and you're going to burn in hell. The other is that sex is the
most awful, dirty thing on the face of the earth and you should save
it for someone you love.

I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet. Lol only gotten almost through the 2nd song :p
Can't stop listening to The Human Abstract 's "Nocturne" album... Amazing.
But Train of Thought I thought was pretty dark. And their song In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 2 is pretty dark, especially for being over 16 minutes long!

Wow. I've never heard of any of those bands you guys posted. I guess because I'm young, 20, and wasn't raised listening to rock music particularly. Anywho, I listen to all kinds of music, except country. One of my all time favorite bands are Death Cab, Radiohead, NaturalCalamity and Pink Floyd. I mostly listen to hip-hop though. My favorite artist would happen to be Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Norah Jones, Coldplay and Jay-Z.
