as for the rosebud, when i explained to her how "we are star stuff" last year some time, the first thing out of her mouth was, "how do we know that?"  yeah, i think she's doing alright with the free-thinking bit.

I have always felt a sense of wonder that we're made out of the same elements that the rest of the universe is made out of... I like the way you just put that feeling on a t-shirt   :D

It was *really* meaningful to my girlie, as well.  I was overjoyed that she gets that same sense of wonder.  I think it'll be a good cushion against the accusations of believers that Atheistic life is "meaningless" and lacks those feelings of awe that religion lays claim to.

I've always wished that I could see the world from as many points of view as possible.  That's why I read as much as I do.  It just occured to me that, when I die, if someone scatters my ashes in the wind, I will become a part of so many other living things in this world; my bits and pieces will have many other adventures when I am no longer "me."  Reincarnation, Secular Humanist style.  :)  (What was that famous eulogy by a physicist?  Something about, "Don't be sad.  I'm not gone.  I'm just a little less organized.")
