...and it all meant nothing to me. I hadn't gone in a year. It was so strange. Foreign and familiar at the same time.

I haven't been in HAF in forever cause I've been in my "questioning stage", wondering if I want a religion. Answer: nah. I'm an atheist. I'm non-religious. I just don't really care. Woo!  :banna:

Update: for those who remember my dad....we're on better terms. To him, I'm "having trouble with my faith", not I'm "an atheist". Which it totally fine with me. It's actually kind of easier that way. My sister and I are talking (she's the one that invited me to church). And me and my mom are still best buds. They're all worried about me though. My bipolar is getting worse. But I've got a new doctor and things are looking up. (sorry for those who don't know me or remember me. this probably makes no sense to a lot you)

Thanks for reading

Welcome back, Susan!

I'm sorry about your bipolar disorder. If I may humbly suggest, try not to worry about it and leave the concern for your doctor or psychiatrist. I'm not a psychologist or anything, but a friend of mine was able to manage her bipolar by routinely releasing stress. She did it with kickboxing, but there are myriad methods of stress release. She also worked hard on building strong and healthy friendships, and found that helped, too. I'm sure you'll be getting better in no time.

Thanks for the advice. I'm already improving. I run for stress relief and I'm also going to therapy as well. (oh and drugs of course...)

thanks so much.

Don't forget atheistious (atheist + delicious). You'd be surprised how often you can use it.

Hey Susan, it's nice to see you back again. I'm sorry to hear about your bipolar getting worse, but glad to hear you're getting it taken care of. That can be scary to go through.

It is very scary, but I've got all kinds of support (including HAF. Thanks guys!)

It is interesting how a little visit to church can make you sure you aren't a believer.  My son wanted to go about seven years ago just to see (it was when he wasn't sure of what he felt/thought) and of course he was 9 years old so I went with him.  We lasted about five minutes, looked at each other, and went fleeing out of the pew and through the back door.

I don't know what meds you are on but I don't notice my bipolar getting worse, I just notice myself becoming more aware of my episodes.  Of course my last manic didn't really strike me until UPS delivered the 27 books I ordered from Amazon:)  Hang in there, if nothing else you are an interesting person.  Try to be aware and don't ignore the blues when you get them.

Hey sorry to bring back an old thread. I've been away from my comp for a little while.

Isn't it? I went back this passed sunday (I still don't know what compelled me to do that) and left half way through the sermon. I couldn't breath. I officially told my sister and my mom that I'm out. Completely. So there's that.

I'm on like five meds, working my way down to three. It's the same for me, as far as being more aware of my episodes. I don't really realize until it's over...But thanks so much. Support is my best medicine  ;)
