My wife invited me to nice sushi place in Frankfurt.

Half a duck, for shredding, with pancakes and hoisin sauce -  cherry tomatoes, spring onions, cucumber and carrors sticks on the side.

Oh, dear, got to eat the whole thing myself. Was going to share it with a friend but when I disagreed with something she said and was told, angrily, "If you don't like it go away in a jerky, hip thrusting sexual manner." Being a gentleman I obeyed the, er, lady's(?) wishes.

For lunch I ate my homemade brussel sprout coleslaw. I watched everyone eat what was being served in the cafeteria: sausage, potatoes au gratin (from a box), and canned green beans.

So, for supper I made Polish kielbasa, potato wedges with olive oil and bay seasoning (potatoes from my garden), and garlic-green beans made from fresh, not frozen or canned. It's amazing what you can do with the same basic ingredients when you're not mass-producing. Of course, I have 3 servings of leftovers yet to enjoy.

Today's theme was "round".

That's meatballs, pepperoni, mushrooms, shallots, cherry toms and circular bits of red pepper. Pepperoni got crisped but was still interesting!

Had thought of using a melon baller on parboiled potatoes and then frying those, but forgot to buy them. Added peas after I took the picture.

Round? I don't know, Gloucester, but they look as flat as the earth.  :snicker:

Huh!?

Come on, Mags, round is round even when its flat! Is not a coin "round"? Tut, I cannot claim them "spherical" 'cos the pepperoni and peppers are flat and the "meatballs" more like cylindrical sections of sausage. But all are "round" in one aspect.

I'll try cubes and squares next time. Hmm, geometrical stirfry . . .  :thoughtful:

Pumpkin Spice Cheerios for breakfast, Whole grain Cheez-its and thin Tostito's for snacks, and rice for dinner.

I want something more substantial, but there's not much I can do. *sigh* Oh well. I've been pretty well-fed lately... Today's kind of the worst it's been a while. (And I don't have any more Cheez-its now... Very sad day)

Well if we're breaking the rules, I'm not only going to include drink, but a drink I was deprived of (FWP alert) - Costa in Bedford yesterday ran out of salted caramel cappuccino and also skinny milk.

So, today I had my bi-annual fasting blood tests at 0830.

Then I went to the pubsturant just down from the surgery and had breakfast there.

There are no skinny brekkers, only large and super-large, so it was just the former - two each of sausages, bacon, eggs and hash browns plus the slightly healthier baked beans, grilled tomato and a largish fried mushroom. I omitted the "eat as much as you like" cereals, melon, grapefuit, sultanas, banana slices etc. But did indulge in the "drink your fill of coffee and fruit juices."

Not bad for a fiver.

Lunch was an apple and a raw carrot; tea will be a beetroot, tomato and cucumber sandwich on (relatively skinny) Danish and supper a banana!

Skinny milk sounds so wrong!

Can't stand the taste of milk but I don't like black tea and coffee.
