So,

I've been watching some new stuff on Netflix and Amazon ... I thought that might be an idea for a new thread.

Three new pilots on Amazon:

"The Tick" is a kind of spoof superhero series, cheesy as hell but obviously knows it is and plays to that as a strength. It's made by Richard Donner who I believe was involved with the original Men-In-Black (the only good one).

"Jean Claude Van Johnson" appears to be a series about an aging superstar played by JCVD who just keeps f***ing things up. At it's core it appears to be a kind of RomCom but not an average one, one that will apeal more to those who like ... well ... JVCD I guess. I watched a fair few of his, some I'd even watch again.

"I Love Dick" is based on a feminst novel about a woman who is obsessed by a man called Dick (played by Kevin Bacon). It's hard for me to know what to say about this except that there were bits I liked and that I really loved some of the strange music.

"iZombie" on Netflix is interesting, about a zombie who helps the police solve cases based on flashback memories she gets from eating the brains of the victims. At it's hard it's a chessy not-really-horror-series something like the mentalist but she's pretty and I like her character quirks as she acts out the personalities of  those she munches on.

"Stranger Things" ... I have yet to watch this.

Started watching Braindead on Amazon ... interesting series. An asteroid hits the Earth, well the sea actually, that scene alone almost made me spit my tea out. The series is kind of funny but serious at the same time with Republican politicians and others being taken over by brain munching insects that make them, well, different. Like I say it's funny, serious, gory and insightful. I've only watched one episode but so far I'm impressed.
