'm a symphonic metal fan (although I don't really like death grunts, so Within Temptation and Nightwish are my thing). I also get very irritated with creationism, subjugation of women, "demons", "Satan is doing this to me", and all other things of that kind of rabid fundamentalism.

So bands like Nightwish (maybe?) and Epica? I quite like those too (I'm relatively new to metal anyway, was soul & dance once) and I like those (some of the Nordic metal bands (for lack of a better name) are great.

This place is great. I'm also from the uk (cambridge) and have found this site to be hugely friendly and fiercely academic. There are some very intelligent people here
