Did you catch tonight's Bullshit?  It's about Stranger Danger and instilling fear in our kids.  Great episode!

Yes loved it.Although I wouldn't trust my oldest to go somewhere alone, because he would sneek off.  :D

That's exactly what I said to my  husband.  My kid (age 8) doesn't know a stranger, no matter HOW Much we've discussed it with him.  We've covered the "no one touches you where your bathing suit covers" and the "anyone grabs you and tries to take you away somehow, you freak out, scream and kick," but I know he'd get on the subway, see someone playing a gameboy or listening to music and he'd siddle up to them and start chatting.  He's just that way.  So no, he would NOT be riding the subway alone at age 9 in NYC.

We live in a relatively safe area, but on the corner of a very busy street.  He is not allowed to play outside in the front because of his distractability... the ball or skateboard would head out that way and he'd go right along with it.  In local stores or restaurants, he can go to the restroom by himself but I keep watch in that area.

But when we visit my mom in the central valley of California, there's not WAY I'd let him wander off in ANY store or restaurant without me by his side.  He can go into the men's room... we just ask him before he goes in if he has to go pee or poo, and I watch the time accordingly, but if he's not out in a reasonable amount of time, I'm going in.  I've startled a few men that way.  LOL!   I try not to freak him out on the stranger-danger thing, but we're cautious ourselves while we let him have some leeway as a kid.

Quote from: "Loffler"I hope the show gets picked up for syndication like the Sopranos on A&E. Then more people can watch it.

Only bad thing is alot of stuff will have to be cut.

So? What happened to "they're just words?" If they're just words, why would you care if they got cut for basic cable?

Well I don't think A&E are going to show the nudity...Or the Bible,Creation,Porn shows.I could care less if they cut cussing. But do you honestly think A&E would air anything involving Bible Bullshit??

I don't see why not. Except in specific episodes, the nudity is rare, and other shows revise the Bible.

But if you think in terms of boycotts and such it wouldn't be pretty.Companies like Ford and Glade are boycotted just because they are gay friendly.A seeing how that could mean loss of money I don't see it happening anytime soon. But then there is Bravo which seems to be open to alot of things.

Naked people are their own reward.  :D    Sex, Sex, Sex

Monty Python's Life of Brian was more historically accurate than Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ.

Joycelyn Elders: I'm against abstinence programs because I really consider "abstinence only" child abuse.
Penn: Oh, SNAP.
Abstinence

Life coaches are like hookers, which is good, except you're renting their ears instead of their genital and you never get to come!

Oh well that explains the absence of gay characters and content on television.

If more people would just take the lines to heart. You don't need to believe that someone is watching over you to be a good person. Those without belief can be just as good.Or better in some cases. No belief in God doesn't mean that person is spiteful, just that they hold what life they have more sacred. Why spend your life being afraid. Why waste your life hating people for things they believe in.Insensitivity runs amuck.People only care about the label and not the person. If they don't agree they put someone on a lower level for it.And never take the time to think that person is alot like themself. If people would just stop being so fearful over what other people do and think then maybe alot could be fixed.
