Well, I live in a small town in Texas, meaning that there are approximately three atheists in my area, and we are still considered 'heathens'. I dunno what else there is to say, really...they try to convert me, I try to ignore them.

Still wondering how plants managed to survive for one 'day' (or perhaps millions or billions of years) with no sun,

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12    And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13    And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14    Â¶ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15    and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16    And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17    And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18    and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

My problem is that he supposedly created plants a day before the sun, and these days, everyone says that the days are representative of hundreds, millions, or billions of years. Ergo, plants survived without photosynthesis for hundreds or millions or billions of years without the sun. Or, when the bible was written, no one knew that plants needed the sun to survive....

I was told, how do you really know how it was created...were you there?
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -cs

Eh... They didn't have broadband, tooth paste or microwave ovens and they thought the earth was flat and that photosynthesis was the devil's attempt to tempt humankind to sin. At least I think this is how it was...   Maybe they did have microwave ovens..?

Hi Cookie, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to HAF cookie! I'm a heathen here in good old Bako as well (though I'm probably not in the same situation as you are). This forum is great especially if you're alienated in your town.

Enjoy!
