strange.
It's like looking for a needle in a haystack as big as the universe, and the needle PROBABLY isn't there. It's not about hope, though, it's about logic. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
ok,i wil use this logic...and see where it gets me....

have you ever heard about the catloaf? its a half cat/half loaf of bread monster, it lives in vatican city and steals the lightbulbs from peoples lightbulbs throughout rome, it only comes out 3 days a year (all on fridays) and its biggest enemy is the ostrich....

PROVE IT DOESNT EXIST!
after all.....absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

Even though you almost certainly just made up the catloaf (sounds delicious), using deductive reasoning one could still explain that circumstances or factual evidence could exist that we're not aware of, thus verifying the possible existence of the catloaf.

I should make myself clear: that for which there is no evidence almost certainly doesn't exist, but so long as there is no real evidence disproving it's existence, it's existence is possible.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

as you can see....you can NEVER give me any PHYSICAL EVIDENCE for or against the catloaf.
and because you cant give evidence that it doesnt exist......it PROBALLY does because "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence".....therefor you should spend the rest of your life devoted to hunting the catloaf until you find the proof you are looking for.....WHICH DOESNT EXIST

There was no evidence of black holes before the mid 20th century. Did black holes exist before the mid 20th century?

i dont remember anyone actually searching for them, (rather than comeing across them)
also didnt hear much about black holes writing books.lol

Actually, the idea of the black hole dates back to the very late 18th century (the 1790s, I believe). Scientists really started to take notice after Einstein developed his wonderful theory of relativity (google Karl Schwarzschild for more info). Still, there was no evidence at all until decades later, maybe the 1970s.

ive just been researching black holes, and like i guessed, they found it by accident .not in a desperate 2000 years search to answer the age old question of a possible neanderthol descent

and like i also said....

black holes dont control 2/3 of the worlds population.
it didnt write a highly contradictive book .
and it doesnt cause vast segregation as a whole,of people trying to find evidence for something that cant be found.

and i further my point of the complete  lack of evidence in any direction , of something that created everything and also controls everything.

I hate for this to be my first post, but no, you're theory is wrong. God will be forever relegated to the status of "extremely unlikely." That's enough to constitute atheism, though.

If we were to apply your mechanic reasoning to, say, the map according to Europeans in the early 1400's, we would be able to prove that the Americas do not exist. After all, there is no evidence of them, so therefore they must not exist!

But the evidence changed. Europeans discovered the Americas and now know that it exists. Similarly, we might one day find unicorns hiding in the forest, or in underground caves, or on faraway planets. In the meantime, it's safe to assume they don't exist and to describe them as extremely unlikely.

Ok given reason of "if there is or is not a God".I think the question should be why would one be so cruel to those it made.Ok yes the bible says Jesus died for our sins.Yet look at the history, not just of recent events but back. The "good book" has been used over and over again to kill.Yet nothing has been done to stop it.No God has spoken to the world,no God has stopped murder in the name of "good".You would think more people would question on why God does nothing.Oh I understand its all suppose to be in faith and there is suppose to be a reason for everything. But I think if God was up somewhere in the sky,I would be pissed rather then in awe.The bible talks about death of babies, ones own children. How could someone even want to give their soul to a God like that.I know I would much rather (if I believed in God and the Devil) spend my enternal life with a being that was true to what he is suppose to be.Not one who hides in goodness.

If there was a god who made us in its image, it would be just like us. And where one person can be nice and reasonable, a bunch of people tend to turn into raving lunatics at the slightest provocation. If we assume that god is an average of what we are, a bunch of us would describe it better than one. Thus, the answer is "human nature"  :D

He's just enjoying the show  :D You can always trust evil to be evil, but can you ever trust good to be your kind of good?

That said, I think people sell their "souls" to the divine so easily because The Bookâ,,¢ makes grand promises for a fairly low price - you just ask forgiveness and the eternity of happiness will be yours. If that aint a bargain, nothing is. The problem is, however, that a scam is a scam and no matter how much you sin and repent, you will still end up ceasing to exist, nothing more.
