Well it only took 7 excruciating hours of waiting, but it finally turns out as acute pancreatitis. Joy of joys. Luckily my mom lent me her iPad so I can mosey around the web doped up on morphine. That's not a bad idea at all, right?

OldGit

Poor old Dobermonster!  Hope with the morphine it doesn't hurt too much now.  Tell us how you're doing.

Oh dear! Gallstones probably? Hope it clears up!

Possibly gallstones, more likely (IMO) imuran-induced. I've been sitting in the hallway for a good 4 hrs following dx and morphine .... Not sure whats supposed to happen next, but will likely be here over the weekend. My kingdom for a bed and fluffy pillow. Thanks for good wishes all.

Ouch...hope you feel better soon. My sister spoke very highly of morphine when she had an painful operation a while ago.

Wow. Feel better soon Dobermonster.

I hope that the pain isn't too bad. Fortunately, from what I've read, the prognosis for pancreatitis in humans seems good, including most often a full recovery. (One of the dogs in my life had it, and she was on medication the rest of her life.) I hope that there are no complications, and that your time in the hospital is brief and relatively pleasant, leaving you feeling much better very soon!

The Magic Pudding

Don't worry, I'll sacrifice a chicken for you Dobermonster.
Actually I buy my chickens pre sacrificed but I'll do the ceremony of nominating you as beneficiary of the prior sacrifice.
I'd look into your future so I could assure you or deceive you of a painless recovery but they've already taken the required gizzards out of this chicken.  I think they sell them to Gallup polls or Nielsen.  :)

Get to feeling better Dobey!!
The essence of the mind is not in what it thinks, but how it thinks. Faith is the surrender of our mind; of reason and our skepticism to put all our trust or faith in someone or something that has no good evidence of itself. That is a sinister thing to me. Of all the supposed virtues, faith is not.

Thanks all for the good wishes and poultry sacrifices . . . they worked! Got home yesterday evening feeling tremendously better. Have to follow a low-fat diet for a bit, just to be on the safe side, but can't complain I suppose. My regards to The Magic Pudding and The Great Chicken In The Sky for their benevolent grant. My parents were eager to tell me about a girl who testified in church last Sunday about being 'healed' from pancreatitis, but now I know the Feathered One is truly the deity to thank. Should I send a tithe over to KFC, or just scatter some corn in gratitude?

Then I think the sacrifice has come full turn! My Dobie is now so wound up from being cooped up all weekend, he's manic, lol. Going to have to load up on tennis balls and head to the nearest park until he drops, I think.

Lucky, I wish mine played. She is happiest lounging on the couch.
