QuoteThere is balm in Gilead,
    To make the wounded whole ;
    There's power enough in heaven,
    To cure a sin-sick soul.

QuoteThere is a balm in Gilead
    To make the wounded whole;
    There is a balm in Gilead
    To heal the sin-sick soul.

    Some times I feel discouraged,
    And think my work's in vain,
    But then the Holy Spirit
    Revives my soul again.

I heard this on the radio this morning, I find it particularly horrible.
It's a slave song, apparently they are feeling bad because of all the sinning they're doing but in the next life, or probably up the back of the next life everything will be healed.  There something about those being so sinned against being taught the problem is with their sinning that gives me a nyerrrr moment.

I think most people given a bad hand in life feel as if they sit back and take it, they will be rewarded with a seat in the clouds.

Wiggum:"You have that much faith in me, Homer?"

"I was thinking that perhaps this thing called God does not exist. Because He cannot save any one of us. No matter how we pray, He doesn't mend our wounds.
