Welcome aboard.

For what its worth, shame seems to be a religious thing. Shame-based, sin-based, people are bad and need saving ... all a part of the cruelty that religion can put children through. I know so many people who grew up with nightmares, and spent years in therapy dealing with feelings of shame brought on by judgement of the church for being who they are.

I think we should do away with shame altogether. I'm not talking about genuine feelings of sorrow for doing something harmful. I'm talking about shame-based punishments, and making people feel like nothing for simple human mistakes.
