Wow!

I just watched this on Sunday afternoon. http://www.comedy.co.uk/guide/tv/holy_flying_circus/details/

It is a film about the turmoil created by the making of Monty Python's Life of Brian.

I am amazed on a number of levels. One is the incredible job the actors did portraying the Pythons. Not just imitations of them, these guys really inhabited the characters. Simply incredible.

Also, the movie itself was so well written (expect nothing less from Tony Roche).

Then, then fantastical nature of it...the puppetry, the animations, the oddball dream sequences. ALL OF IT!

If you enjoy the Pythons and want to see an amazing imagining of what they went through, you must watch this!

Soon as I can, I'm buying the disc!

Thanks McQ - that looks like fun.

I remember it being just a little bit controversial at the time, but the general public didn't pay too much attention to the nutters. There was little patience for that sort of thing at the time.

For those in the UK, or - er - able to watch the BBC by other means, you can "watch again" here:

I feel pretty fortunate, being able to watch so much non-U.S. programming. One of my friends has a man-cave/theater room/sound recording and music studio. All told, takes up about 1350 square feet (125 sq. meters).

I asked my friend how he manages to get all of the UK programming that he and I watch each week, but he never told me. I know he pays a huge amount for his entertainment gear and subscriptions though.

Did you spot that Michael Palin played the part of his own mother?
I thought it was brilliant.
Steve Punt as Eric(?) looked a bit out of place because he's about 20 years older than the other actors.
The guy playing the young Palin was well cute.

Son of a gun! That was Palin?!!! That is brilliant! Totally missed it. I thought it was simply the actor playing Palin doing both. Never caught that it was him. Cool.

Have a look at Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). If you are in the US and want to access UK restricted content you can set up a VPN that makes you look as if you are on a UK server. In fact you do actually route through a UK server. My son travels to America and likes to keep up on some UK TV series. He has access to the Imperial College VPN server and routes through that to access UK restricted content. Setting up a VPN costs a few pounds a month on a subscription basis.

Thanks. I will be exploring this later today.

I use HotSpot Shield (http://hotspotshield.com/), didn't pay a cent for it and have been able to watch videos I normally wouldn't have with it.

I sound a bit like someone shamelessly promoting a product there :P

Hey, promote like crazy! That's what we want with this one. I'm wet behind the ears on VPN, so all advice is appreciated.

That looks like it would be good! Never heard of it. Perhaps I'm American. LOB is one of my favorite movies of all time, right up there with Fisher King and Who's Afraid Of Virginia Wolfe.
