Some of you may have heard about the Mothman, some of you may have not. In the 60's in Point Pleasant WV, there was reported strange phenomena involving a creature looking like a man with wings and glowing red eyes. They called it the Mothman, and the sightings continue until in december 1967 the silver bridge collapsed killing 40+ people who were on it at the time. After that there were no more sightings at Point Pleasant. They have a Mothman museum, a metal statue, and lots of tourist attractions.

Now the inevitable question..... Do I believe in the Mothman? No. But it is a really cool, quirky place to visit, and the festival should be a blast. I hope to get some good pics and I will post them up later.

sounds great, I just googled it and the statue looks fantastic. Have a great time, I'll look forward to seeing the pics. Oh, and maybe take a torch or bright light with you, just incase the Mothman reappears and you can distract him with the light!

HAHA If I see the mothman, I'm getting out of the area as fast as possible. That means something bad is gonna happen there.

As I said before, I don't believe in it, it is just a quirky place to visit and watch the people get excited. Sooner or later it will probably be a religion. LOL

If you don't believe in the Mothman, just ask Richard Gere. He was there. I saw it on the TV.

God fucking damnit, it doesn't matter what convention you attend. There's ALWAYS A STORMTROOPER.  They are really annoying.  >:(

I can handle the storm troopers, I'm just glad there wasn't anyone dressed as jesus. Seems like every time I try to go to any public event, somebody dresses up like a white jesus and drags a (too small to be accurate) fake cross around. That is really annoying to me.

I used to live not far from there, and I have a grandpa who swears he's seen (the?) Mothman in person while out hunting. Apparently creeped him out so much he won't go near the woods around there anymore.

There are more than a few people who wholeheartedly believe in the stories.

Gosh. I think I would want to go find him! Mothman that is, not your grandpa, although I'm sure I'd like to meet him to.

The Mothman is by far the most intriguing cryptid. I don't know why it's not as famous as bigfoot, or the Loch Ness Monster. If I'm going to speculate about a nonexistant monster, it might as well be something that would actually be a little eerie in real life.
