Hello HAF.

I've stumbled upon this site a few times in the past but I decided to join today. I absolutely HATE these introductions. They can be brutal. But I like to at least give you an idea of the perspective I am coming from before I start posting. So bullet points seems to be the best for me. Or else I'd be giving you a very tldr version of my life. Let's skip on down to the pertinent information.

~I am a LaVeyan Satanist. Have been for the past (gets out calculator) 25 years if you can imagine that! I am an Atheistic Satanist. I do not worship anything except maybe Wolverine and Diet Dr Pepper (I'm a Diabetic)

~I am engaged to a Fundamentalist Muslim.
(waits for the tizzy to rise and fall)

~I like sparkly and shiny pink things.
~ I enjoy bbq babies
~I have a wicked sense of humor.

Ok to the really important stuff. I do NOT insinuate anything. EVER. I say it how I mean it the first time around. I am direct and blunt. Which can come across as bitchy. Sometimes I am. Most of the time I just don't like to type long winded replies. I like to just get to the meat of things. I am very open to all religions. I have a sick spot in my stomach for Christianity (the religion) but I am not a hater. I understand the difference between sweeping generalizations and just some guy being a jerk. I have quite a few friends who are Pagan, Satanists, Jewish, Christian, Agnostics and a few Flying Spaghetti Monster and Pastafarians floating around. I'm more apt to find something I have in common with the human race then not. I think in my older age (about to be 40 this October) I've worn down my sharp edges. I take things in stride. We are all moving toward the grave. No need to just be shitty about the whole ride down, eh?

So hi  :)

Hello and welcome to HAF, Medusa.  Thanks for your concise yet interesting introduction. It's good to see a LaVeyan Satanist joining here.  If you don't mind, I'm wondering what has kept you following that particular path for such a long time?

Best of luck with your impending marriage.

Thank you for the welcome. You know I was raised to be Catholic. And about a year or so ago I studied Islam. I think for me it's just who it is in my nature to be. I haven't wavered really in my belief system. I've never done something against it. Because in essence it's me. I make my own moral codes etc. I am my own compass. When I find myself veering off course it's because I take myself there. And that new course becomes who I am. And also I have just never found anything that made as much sense to me. I don't have to hunch about my belief system. I've scrutinized it enough over the years to know the damn shoe just fits.  :D

First of all welcome. I'm not asking this to attack you in anyway, but I have to ask.

Whats the point of being a satanist if you don't believe in satan?

Edit: Never mind, i just googled it and see why. I will leave my previous post though to illustrate the common misunderstandings of satanism.

Double Edit: I like the philosophy, it is similar to my own, but why consider yourself a satanist? We could get into an argument of semantics which neither of us would like. The term is simply misleading, and the philosophy is so similar to others.

I flirted with Objectivism for a bit, which seems similar to what you classify yourself as... but I digress.

I like to ramble. Regardless, welcome to the forums and I'm actually very intrigued by your philosophical preference.

Triple Edit
: I would simply like to add I'm an Anarcho-Capitalist seeing as I said our philosophies are similar.

Well. Let's see. Ok, I have a good friend who used to be Pagan. But he's now a hard Atheist. He lives his lifestyle through Paganistic tendencies. The parts that don't relate to a deity. I have another friend who was raised in a Christian home. But is a science geek. And she's now Atheist. But she lives her lifestyle with those slants. I live my Atheism belief system through a Satanic lifestyle. While one Atheist might turn the other cheek, I do not. While one Atheist might be all loving nature and want to be smoking pot like my Pagan friend. I do not.

My belief is of an Atheist. I live out that belief system through the lifestyle of a Satanist and all that entails. I hope that makes sense.

Kind of but not really, if that makes sense. I will do some more research on Leviathan Satanism because you have piqued my curiosity. I don't fully understand, but maybe I do... The only thing I held onto from my Christian days is saying, "goddamn" and "bless ya (when someone sneezes.)

This site might help a bit. There is a list of doctrines that I follow. Though not all or to the tee. Satanism is a very individual philosophy. You can't generalize. But it would be safe to say that as a Satanist, we tend to follow these in some form. While not all Atheist would in general.
