I don't need the label; that's an album that I had for a long time.  Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus by Spirit. So here's another:

Ditto, Grateful Dead - Anthem of the Sun. nice choice of album cover. I'll try and keep the psychedelic theme going with my next choice, as that's mostly what I listen to

Where's our clue for this one?

It is no secret that this album is certified double-platinum in the US. It has now sold more than 3 million copies worldwide.
The singer is Canadian and the genre is Celtic
Loreena McKennitt - The Book of Secrets.

Continuing on the themes of Canada and obscurity:

Hardcore prog fans will know this mellotronic masterpiece.

I had a feeling this might be a bit obscure...

Some clues: the band's name is a keyboard instrument, and they sing in Québécois...

easy peasy  ;) it's Harmonium with the very progilly titled 'Si On Avait Besoin d'une Cinquieme Saison' and yes, it's very obscure!

In an attempt to resurrect the thread here's a hopefully slightly less obscure cover;

this one was on Liberty

think this one's a bit too obscure too, it's German if that helps (and anyone cares!)

Recusant

The German album: Yeti by Amon Düül II. (There's nothing wrong with obscure; if people don't get an album, there is no hard and fast rule against posting another.  Nothing is at stake here. In fact I think the more the merrier.)

Moving in a slightly different direction (and yes, this group might well be considered at least as obscure as Amon Düül II, but for different reasons):

Fireside Theatre - I think We're all Bozos on this Bus. Is that a ventriloquist dummy on the front of the LP?

Here's another, one of my favourite albums. Even a full-blooded heathen like myself has to admire a man who dresses like Jesus with a guitar on the front of an LP!

The Magic Pudding

I'm embracing Recusant's more the merrier approach.
How can I not, he's so wise gently pointing out our mistakes with that cigar of his. (I'd insert a goodwill, no sarcasm smiley here if I had one).

It very well could be. I think one of the themes of the album is the way that people are manipulated by elements of modern society, and the efforts of some to break out of the standard pathways laid out for them; I guess a ventriloquist dummy could fit with that idea. Though I at one time had all of Firesign Theatre's albums on vinyl, they were tragically lost years ago, so I can't examine the image as closely as I would like.

I'm flattered, but I would hope that I'm seen as something besides a pedantic know-it-all (albeit a gentle one). I admit I occasionally succumb to a pedantic impulse, but mostly I just enjoy research. To be clear; I'm taking this in the lighthearted manner in which it's intended.

A nice continuation of the psychedelic theme: The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators by 13th Floor Elevators. I hate to break the streak, so I'm going to post at least one more in that vein.  I modified the image a bit to make it slightly more difficult, but probably not enough.

Neil Young - On the Beach

and here's another album cover set on a (Nordic) beach;
