God showing evolution to his prophets?

My friend and I had a pretty good discussion one night. We are both atheist but like to debate theism because we are both deconverts from christianity we take turns, one supporting theism, the other oppising. So we can get different perspectives. But we had an idea that when god showed his apostles how he created man, do you think it's possible that sheer imensity of what had to be comprehended, maybe it was misconstrued? That god showed flashes of creatures coming out of the mass of the earth, and man evolving from the earth along with all of the other creatures, and showing the apostles images of the big bang, " Let there be light", creating the oceans and the land, the slow development of these two things from volcanos and then the earth slowly cooling moisture condensing. So on and so forth, until the entire earth as we know it came into being. So my question is if god did exist do you think that this is a valid possiblity? That evolution is correct but mans limited understanding at the time caused him to take it the wrong way? Again just saying what if?

A true god would know how to convey an understanding of evolution to humans in a clear manner.

Again there is a possibility, just from a hypothetical stand point mind you, that maybe the idea of god is misconstrued also. Maybe he isn't omnipotent, thats why he hasn't talked to the entirety of the planet at once. So if with the possibility of an imperfect god, who just has a lot of power, maybe it was test and guesse? He wasn't sure of the best way to procede with the visions and winged it? I don't know it's just a thought.

The alien may be god like.
There are plenty of belief systems recognising many less than omnipotent gods.
Why was the old testament god so jealous if there were no other gods to be jealous of?
Was he just a nutter?

He's quite the self-conscience God, indeed.

IMO Whitney's right. A true all powerful God would have had shit go down the way he meant it. So no, I don't thin this is a possibility.

There is a fashionable idea floating around the more nebulous ends of the Theological Elite that God "emptied himself" in order to enact creation - used up his power and his very substance in order to make the universe in the first place, and so that he is, in a very real sense, now an impotent god.

Personally, I love the idea of the universe coming into being via a metaphor for pissing.  Feels about right.

The mainstream Christian concept of God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent... omnibus... omni-everything. Some of the more sophisticated Christians, and other theists, recognise the impossibility of an omnimax being, so they downgrade their God. They worship a sort of God Lite.
This of course opens a big can of worms; but it's their problem, not ours.

So who's driving god then?

The 'omnibus' bit was a joke... that's why I added 'omni-everything.'

I like to subscribe to the idea that if there was a creator, it was a lifeform Like Galactus, riding a space harley and spit and poof here we are. I want a space harley.

I am a Magic Pudding, my avatar wears a hat and a glove I stole from the queen and I carry a cricket bat for whacking zombies.
Almost everything is a joke to me, I thought there were possibilities with the bus thing.
