Quote from: "Beachdragon"I don't have anything on youtube, though I ought to do a basic chainmaille tutorial at some point.  Maybe I can have one of my friends record one of our choral performances and I'll post that, that would be fun.  :)

Silver, Bronze, copper etc????  I play at maille when I have the time and inspiration.  Right now I usually play with bronze.  Trying to teach myself a few more patterns.

Tank, yes, the steel wire rings to make armor.  I don't make armor yet though.  I mostly do bib necklaces with the steel.  I like to integrate crystal with it too.

I do silver, bronze and copper mostly.  Right now mostly Bronze as it's inexpensive and really pretty.  Copper is really good for large designs and men's jewelry.

I love love love the look of silver, but it's a little expensive.  My mom used to want me to make a bib necklace all in gold.  I never did it, I can't afford it!
That's way cool! I have seen it being made in a demonstration at The Royal Armouries in Leeds, near where I live. They have the worlds largest remaining set of elephant chainmail armour there.

I agree. It looks nice. Especially now, warmer weather would be so good. And I've never been to Cyprus so can I come too?  :D

Wow, what amazing armor!  I can't imagine even starting to make chain armor for an elephant!

Hey, does needlework count as art in this thread?  (pun intended).  I'm an avid cross-stitcher and would love to share pictures of some of my finishes.

I'm pretty sure it counts.
Always question all authorities because the authority you don't question is the most dangerous... except me, never question me.

I made my son a Dr. Seuss - Horton Hears a Who cake for his first birthday. The flower on the top (with the Whoville speck) and Horton are both made with gumpaste.

I'm a graphic designer by trade, so I end up doing a lot of sterile, grid-based, digital work, which can be really aesthetically nice in its own right, but I just need to use my hands sometimes. This is a reduction linocut print series that I made a few months ago that illustrates the legend of Pecos Bill.  :)
