Nooo. Don't much care for that. Chocolate with cream and Irish whiskey, though... now that's nice. And yeah I know it's incredibly girly but then so's this entire topic... and for my slightly better excuse, it does make a great hair of the dog 8)

Don't care for chocolate stout?  I'm surprised.  I think they're quite good, as long as you keep the chocolate to a reasonable level - and brew it in with the beer using unsweetened baker's chocolate, of course.

Eh - to each their own I guess.

Well, to be fair, the only chocolate stout I've actually tried is my cousin's the Christmas before last, at this family meal, and everyone there was filling the house with vomit that night. He's pretty incompetent when it comes to brewing his own booze; though to be reasonable he's 16 and he's only been doing it for two years. Still... I've only been doing it for 5 and only one person has ever thrown up after drinking my wine (three and a half bottles of it within about an hour - such a waste).

It put me off the idea all together though, as you can imagine. The thought of it makes me feel slightly ill.

Haha!  Well - seeing as how you have such a very well grounded reason, I can't help but understand.  I had an experience like this with the liquor Kahlua - its not bad in and of itself - but the drunkest I've ever been was my 19th birthday (yeah, underage) when I drank many concoctions called "Mind Erasers" that included Kahlua in the list of intoxicants.  The drink was true to its name, although thankfully my mind wasn't permanently erased.  But still....

I woke up from a comatose state on the bathroom floor of the local Steak & Shake because a police officer was kicking my leg and telling me to get up.  There was vomit all over the place, and I'm sure it was mine.

This unpleasant experience has given me a life-long aversion to Kahlua, even though it really wasn't the Kahlua's fault.  Sigh - live and learn I guess.  I've been happily lit many times since, but never to that ridiculous of a level.  I guess everyone has to do it once and get it out of their system!
