Greetings from the Bible Belt

Hello all. I'm new here and I have recently became Atheist. Well I guess I have been for sometime, I just never thought about it much before. I was raised Southern Baptist. Early on I disagreed with many of the things the church was preaching. But because of family I didn't question my beliefs.

I haven't been able to tell many people in my life about my views. I am fortunate to have a loving wife who shares my beliefs, I also have two wonderful kids.

I have been looking for a place to talk to others that have like beliefs. I found this forum, and I look forward to talking to you all.

Well you have come to the right place! There are a lot of really great people here. I was also raised in the south as a Baptist. I hope you enjoy this forum as much as I do. Look forward to your thoughts. It is a rather calm and relaxing corner of the internet even amongst the debate.

My brother converted from Roman Catholic to some type of Baptist.  (I'm not sure which "flavor" he chose.)  I shook off the shackles of Catholicism for atheism, so maybe he was adopted (as I always suspected as a child).

Hi Jesster85 - welcome!  I've got too kids, also.  3 and 6.  Both girls.  They're growing up "without god".  Cheers!
