Homer:"No! Faith is what you have in things that don't exist. Your awesomeness is real."

"I was thinking that perhaps this thing called God does not exist. Because He cannot save any one of us. No matter how we pray, He doesn't mend our wounds.

Acute pancreatitis, what causes it?

80% of acute pancreatitis cases are caused by either gallstones or chronic alcoholism. The other 20% are due to infection or drug side effects. In my case, it was an immunosuppressant that I was taking for another illness. Very rare side effect, about 1.5% of people taking it develop pancreatitis.

It's good to have a diagnosis so that action can be taken. It's much worse if the quacks spend weeks prodding and testing and then still don't know what's going on.

Although pancreatitis is fairly easily diagnosed (looking at enzyme levels), if you get the sort of doctors who are on a totally different track, since symptoms can vary and aren't always textbook, then this can and does happen. Sometimes it takes a willful and knowledgeable patient to be a successful patient. Took a good four years to get two diagnoses for me, because I "looked" healthy
