How do I post a comment after a post?      It seems to post my comments at the bottom?
Very confusing.
Thanks for any help you may offer.

click quote and enter your text under/past the quote code that will look like this
All new replies go to the bottom; they are in order by date/time.

I don't know if this would help, it didn't seem to help the person it was created for.
It's for when posts get a bit complicated but it may help show how things work.

I think I see what you are asking. You can't comment directly after a post as what you are actually doing is adding another record to a sequential database, this is called the topic or thread. To react to a specific post in a thread you click the quote button and the post is duplicated (quoted) and one normally adds one's comments at the bottom of the new post. Does that help?

As the other's have said, just make sure you enclose the start of the quoted text with (quote) and end the quoted text with
. Just replace the parentheses with brackets to make it work.

I find the easiest way is to highlight the text with your cursor and then click "quote" about the post you highlighted the text in and your post will pop up with the quote and you can add you comments below [as I'm doing] and also edit things out of the quote not relevant [snip].

Hope this also adds more light and not more confusion if your still not certain how to do it.

I out of diapers and over 10 posts!

The very best thing about the linked post is that poster drawing himself up to his full height and saying "I'm not contrite over whether Asmodean et al are offended by my method of posting."  I can sooo see Asmo gnawing on some unsuspecting user for not using the quote button to its fullest capacity.  ;D
