1. Yep
2. Moderate success.
3. This year, my resolution is to never screw up and write 2011 for the date. (usually it takes a month or two to break the habit)

1.  Yes
2.  No
3.  At my doctor's suggestion, I'm going to try to stick to a largely vegetarian diet (not sure if I'll be able to give up seafood).

First -

Happy 2012 to one and all!  May the climate change cataclysm, approaching comet, apocalypse of the God of love, or uncloseting of our extra-terrestrial progenitors from out their silver saucers find you ready to make the most of it!  And may the Logic Elf never fail to notice your correctly discerned implications and contradictions!

Now then -

(1) No.
(2) No.
(3) To be the best Logic Elfian I can be.  Syllogise!

1)  No - except long ago I resolved never to make any.
2)  Yes - I never made any more.
3)  Not making one.  I confirm my old wish to pour pigshit on Tony Blair's head if the chance ever arises, but that's not a resolution, just a dream.

Happy 2012, everybody!

2) Have you ever kept one?

1) No. Not a real, serious resolution, at least.
2) No.
3) Nope.

Never got the habit of doing it.

The only resolutions parents and people around me ever made were to lose weight or quit smoking. I thought those were silly, since they could do those any time. I never understood the whole resolution thing.

1) Yep.

2) Yes.

3) I know most people say something like "I'll start working out regularly" but I've been doing that since September when I got my new gym membership.  I think for the new year I don't really have any resolutions but rather goals to accomplish, for example:

* I will find a better job to make use of my graduate degree so I can stop working for chicken feed.
* I plan on buying a Glock 19 and taking classes to get my Conceal and Carry License.
* I plan on moving to a much larger city (the location is contingent upon the results of #1).
* I plan on getting back into martial arts training.

Those are the major ones so far, I'm sure others will come along as I think of them.

1)  Not any firm resolutions; that seems to strict to me...just general goals; Usually to eat better and exercise more.
2) Yes...lost 20lbs during 2011 (usually when I make health goals I do end the year healthier than the year prior)
3)  Just to refocus on positive food/exercise habits....want to undo the holiday gain (was at about -25 lbs) and lose another pant size (or two if I can maintain it).  But I don't make silly resolution like I'm not going to have a cookie in 2012...if I had then I wouldn't have even made it through this morning because I had a cookie left over from the party we threw last night.  I also don't necessarily start my resolution plans on the 1st...sometimes before; sometimes after...usually it's just a time to refocus if I evaluate and find that i went off track.

3) They are the same as last years, try and stop smoking (not going well) and stop procrastinating on the internet when I should be working.

1) Retrospectively, yes. Just to be safe, I only make resolutions after living up to them.

2) Yeah I'm really good at it.

3) I quit smoking a month ago and, at some point in the future, I'll retrospectively resolve to keep it up. Having said that, I'll also retrospectively resolve not to become one of those unbearable, intolerant ex-smokers who feel entitled to condescend to those still in the habit.

"You smoke, don't you. I can smell it. I did that for six years, me - SIX YEARS. Stuffed a coffee mug a day with dog ends, thereabouts, and I managed to quit *snaps fingers* just like that. You ought to take a page out of my book you phlegmy tar-infested scoundrel!" Could never stand that talk.

I've retrospectively resolved to use phlegmy in a sentence - look Ma: phlegmy - because, hey, let's face it, two silent letters in one word is just cool. 8)

Nope. If I think something needs to be changed, I won't wait for some arbitrary date to start doing it. I used to smoke. Without making a resolution, I decided in April several years ago to quit and I quit cold turkey. Haven't had one since and on occasion I do hang out with people who smoke.
Quote from: Tank2) Have you ever kept one?
Never made one, always thought they were silly and failure prone.
Quote from: Tank3) What are you going to try this year?
I'm not.
