Hmmmm, well it seems that every time I save a placemark to the map, it's gone the next time I check it.  Any ideas?  I'm logged in to Google already, and I'm definitely saving them.

I don't think it's working very well. I've never managed to get a pointer to stick, but I think some have, so maybe a sucessful 'sticker' will explain how.

Any ideas of how to get up to 10 posts without posting nonsense?

How about this:

Has anyone else read or heard of this book Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel?  I know I've mentioned it before but I actually started reading it now.  10 pages in and it's that lethal....yet.

Well, usually the ten post rule is used to get to know each other better. It's not always nonsense.

As for the question, no I had not heard of that book. You'll have to let us know how it is.

Yeah but I need to rekindle the discussion so I can share more about myself.

As for what I love about weather....wow, that's a lot harder to put in words.  I mean what compels a person to stay up until 2am waiting for a model run, and then get up at 6 to start all over again?  Maybe it's the unpredictability of it all?  If it was though, then why would we all strive to predict it?  If I think of a better answer I'll get back to you.

You could start a thread/s about this, I know Fester and Traveler have a particular interest and most would have some.

Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico seem to effect areas of higher latitude than cyclones do in the Coral Sea/Pacific.  I'm not sure why, is it that the water is shallower and warmer?

I'm far from a Pacific expert, but is indeed a fact that the Gulf is very warm and very shallow.  Makes sense too, since it was almost "artificially made" unlike the rest of the world's oceans.
What is 'artificial' about the Gulf of Mexico?

Calling the GOM artificial isn't like an accepted term or anything, but I call it that because it acts like part of the Atlantic Ocean, even though it was created much later during the late Triassic period (I had to consult Dr. Wiki for the specifics) around the time that Pangea formed.  Essentially a flat area opened up and the Atlantic flooded it.  It's much more shallow than a regular ocean, and much younger too.

I think brief factoids like that are an OK way to do at least some of the ten posts required.
