'Ello everyone. I just found HAF, and decided it's somewhere I'd like to spend a little time.

About me: I'm a mostly uninteresting ape descendant, atheist for two years, 31-year-old male working for an ambulance service in Georgia. I have very few friends that share my non-belief, but I have found that the ones that do share it, I have a stronger bond with (mostly because we deal with all the people that don't understand, or are outright hateful, all the time).

I don't discuss my atheism with my family. One sister is a fundie Christian, another is an "Easter Sunday" Christian, and my mom is.... somewhere in between. I think my father might be an atheist, but I really don't know how to approach the subject, and I'm really not one to make waves.

Anyhoo, that's me in a nutshell.

Hi FS,
Do you mean Georgia, the country (the one that borrowed England's flag and where იოსებ ბესარიონის ძე სტალინი was born?) or Georgia, the state? I'm guessing the latter. In either case welcome to the asylum in both senses of the word.  ;) And what is this bullshit about you not being interesting? You're here aint ya?  :D

"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

Atilla, when you say იოსებ ბესარიონის ძე სტალინი, do you mean Stalin the dictator, or Stalin the one-eyed gay pirate, known on the Spanish Main as Mincing Malachi?

Only asking.

Of course OG, I was expecting that question and it's a common mistake that many people make mixing them up. Here's the key: one of them looks like Johnny Depp and the other has a moustache. The favourite drink of JDepp is Lagavulin which by an act of fate/god is my favourite drink as well. What is more miraculous about your question is that the other lesser known Stalin died on my birthday. So you see, it's all connected and there is a spiritual link that ties it all together... or maybe there isn't. Aren't you glad you asked?  ;D

Hi Becca,
Why not start your own thread in the Introductions forum so we can get to know you properly.
