This might also have the potential of relieving underground pressures that otherwise might eventually lead to a super volcanic eruption in places like Yellowstone.  It's like a giant zit that needs to be lanced before it explodes.  Tap into the geothermal resources, obtain massive amounts of energy, relieve pressures that are building up, and stop sending all our wealth to Islamic jihadists.

I did notice that in my dad's neighborhood a lot of people had geothermal installed...they all had signs in the yard.  Geothermal is great if you are in the right place for it.

The tech is interesting... I, however, am not a huge fan of clean energy, mostly because with today's level of tehnology it tends not to be sufficient to meet the energy requirements fully and efficiently enough when ompared to the cost of implementation.
